The recent application of the risk–need–responsivity (RNR) model, in conjunction with core correctional practices, has offered promising results. In present study, supervision officers were trained skills and RNR model. Supervision randomly assigned to training groups provided audio recordings interactions clients assess their use learned skills. current study utilizes taped between offenders, individual-level offender data, outcome/recidivism data investigate impact regimen, which is focus...

To identify the prevalence, seasonality and demographic characteristics of patients with viral gastroenteritis, we reviewed 6 years retrospective data on agents gastroenteritis screened by electron microscopy at 10 centers in United States Canada. From 52 691 individual microscopic observations, a virus was detected 16% specimens, yearly positive detection rate among ranged from 8 to 34%. Rotavirus agent most commonly observed (26 83%), followed adenoviruses (8 27%, respiratory enteric...

AbstractIn 2009 the Administrative Office of US Courts developed and piloted a training program (STARR) for probation pretrial officers. The purpose this was to train officers in use core correctional practices their one-on-one interactions with offenders. Two areas interest were subsequently investigated by researchers. First, did impact officer behaviors second trained supervise offenders that had lower failure rates. evaluation effort published 2012 used 12-month follow-up measure...

Abstract The science and methodology of offender assessment have undergone distinct increasingly rapid changes over the last several decades. field corrections is currently well into 'third generation' actuarial development, instruments that utilize both static dynamic predictors are commonplace. Despite existence some well-established risk/need tools, improvements can be made regarding predictive validity (not to mention strength). In addition, work needs done application these tools....

Abstract Thrombosis and occlusion of major veins have been described following the use transvenous pacing electrodes for establishment permanent cardiac pacing. The frequency such complications is, however, not well known. A series 125 patients was therefore reviewed, all whom had paced with through a cephalic vein. There clinical venographic evidence subclavian vein in only 3 these patients. further 20 were also subjected to venography showed no radiographic venous although minor thrombosis...
