Article abstract Unilateral acoustic stimulation produces a functional MRI (fMRI)–blood-oxygenation-level-dependent (BOLD) response mainly in the contralateral auditory cortex. In unilateral deaf patients, BOLD is bilateral. We studied subject with sudden hearing loss after cochlear nerve resection before and repeatedly surgery. During normal bilateral hearing, cortical responses were found. Progressing compensatory reorganization representation of was detected over period approximately 1 year.

Background and Purpose The clinical presentation of middle cerebral artery (MCA) stenosis, a rarely diagnosed condition, is not well known. aim this study was to analyze the stroke patterns patients with isolated MCA stenosis. Methods Twenty-two infarcts due stenosis were analyzed respect their syndrome, lesions assessed by neuroimaging. transcranial Doppler sonography (TCD) in 16, TCD digital subtraction angiography (DSA) 4, DSA alone 2 patients. Results Ten (45.5%) had lacunar syndromes,...

By grouping patients who had carotid angiograms under unusually carefully monitored conditions it has been shown that hypocapnia is associated with vasodilation at low blood pressure but not high pressure. The mechanism discussed in general terms and suggested the hypocapnic may be a response to cerebral hypoxia transmitted via an intracerebral autonomic pathway. Clinical angiographical diagnoses are given for 50 patients.

Abstract We report a case of prenatally diagnosed infratentorial subdural hemorrhage. The hematoma located in the posterior cerebral fossa was detected by conventional ultrasound at 24 weeks gestation. Intrauterine magnetic resonance imaging confirmed diagnosis. Autopsy fetus revealed well‐circumscribed hematoma. prenatal findings intracranial bleeding and prognosis such cases are discussed. Copyright © 2002 ISUOG

Abstract By combining two‐frequency excitation with 1 H NMR STEAM spectroscopy, it is possible to measure two volumes of interest simultaneously without an increase in measuring time compared single‐volume STEAM. Spatial selectivity and spectral resolution this approach are demonstrated for test solutions human brain spectroscopy. First results a tumor patient also presented. © 1990 Academic Press, Inc.

Blood flow in the common carotid artery as measured by means of QFM system Furuhata 100 patients with angiographically proven obstructive or occlusive lesions internal middle cerebral artery, was compared normal blood range healthy persons 41 to 70 years age. Findings were considered be pathological 72% patient pool. This figure based on one more standard-value criteria, namely, unilateral flow, bilateral and percentage difference between both sides. Pathological findings thus obtained per...

All CT, 24 angiography and five MRT been performed addition. CT showed solitary lesion 60%, 62% scalloped margins 38% were nodular, 34% isodense 57% hyperdense. Following contrast injection, there was increased density 97% lesions. The most frequent localisation region basal ganglia corpus...
