The rate of denaturation hemaglobin and other proteins by mechanical shaking is strongly affected organic solvents. A group pf solvents, including alcohols ketones, was found to stabilize at low concentrations, although these same solvents denatured high concentrations. stabilizing effect increased with increasing chain lenghts. second solvents, including toluene chloroform, showed only a destabilizing effect, while the third such as formamide pentane had no over wide range Organic may be...

A versatile synthetic means for cyclic diblock copolymers has been developed by the combination of atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) and ring-closing metathesis (RCM) techniques. Thus, first, an A−B type allyl-telechelic copolymer comprised two different acrylate ester segments, i.e., poly(methyl acrylate)-b-poly(n-butyl acrylate), poly(MA)-b-poly(BA), was prepared via ATRP MA, followed addition second monomer, BA, with allyl bromide as initiator allyltributylstannane end-capping...

Abstract Focusing on a single molecule of multibranched polymers, the surface properties silicon wafers modified with such as linear, comb-like, and arborescent polymers having hydrosilyl groups were investigated. The polymer surfaces showed hydrophobicity, water contact angle increased increasing branching generation. It was revealed that structure enables to control wettability.

Abstract An efficient synthetic route to cyclic polymers has been demonstrated through atom-transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) and subsequent ring-closing metathesis (RCM) reaction. Thus, telechelic poly(methyl acrylate) (PMA) having allyl groups was synthesized by ATRP of methyl acrylate with a difunctional initiator the end-capping reaction allyltributyltin. The following RCM proceeded even under dilution in presence Grubbs catalyst give PMA high yield.
