OBJECTIVES: To characterise risk factors for the acquisition of genital warts and specifically to determine whether condoms confer protection from infection. METHODS: A retrospective case-control study comparing demographic, behavioural, sexual in men women with without newly diagnosed warts, who attended Sydney Sexual Health Centre (SSHC), an inner city public health centre, 1996. Data were extracted SSHC database. Crude odds ratios (OR) calculated compare cases controls significant then...

Background and Purpose— Intravenous alteplase (rtPA) remains the only approved treatment for acute ischemic stroke, but its use limited. In a previous pilot dose-escalation study, intravenous tenecteplase showed promise as potentially safer alternative. Therefore, Phase IIB clinical trial was begun to (1) choose best dose of carry forward; (2) provide evidence either or futility further testing versus rtPA. If established, then would continue III efficacy comparing selected standard Methods—...

We report the first case of 10-year disease-free survival in a patient with small cell lung cancer (SCLC) brain metastasis. A 63-year-old man was found to have SCLC metastasis and underwent chemoradiotherapy. Radiation therapy delivered brain, lungs, mediastinum supraclavicular fossa. Chemotherapy regimen mainly consisted etoposide-plus-cisplatin. The has remained alive for more than 10 years after diagnosis no relapses.

Abstract The role of heredity in early‐ versus late‐onset Parkinson's disease (PD) is controversial. We estimated the degree increased risk PD first‐degree relatives 221 probands with age onset 50 years or younger and 266 older than compared 409 control probands. Risk was similar among early‐onset (risk ratio [RR], 2.9; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.6–5.0; p = 0.0002) (RR, 2.7; CI, 1.6–4.4; when each controls.
