Mosquito-transmitted Plasmodium parasites cause millions of people worldwide to suffer malaria every year. Drug-resistant and insecticide-resistant mosquitoes make hard control. Thus, the next generation antimalarial drugs that inhibit infection transmission are needed. We screened our Global Fungal Extract Library (GFEL) obtained a candidate completely inhibited falciparum Anopheles gambiae. The fungal strain was determined as Aspergillus aculeatus. bioactive compound purified identified...

The Chevrier's field mouse (Apodemus chevrieri) is an endemic species to China and important pest in agriculture human diseases. In this study, the complete mitochondrial genome of was sequenced its size 16,298 bases (accession no.: HQ896683). mitogenome structure similar compared with other reported rodent genomes includes 13 protein-coding genes, 2 rRNA genes (12S 16S rRNA), 22 tRNA 1 control region. This first genus Apodemus. phylogenetic analyses based on sequences 12 heavy-strand...

Of the 14 nominal species that are now or have ever been assigned to genus Paranemertes Coe, 1901, four reported stylets with a spirally fluted braided appearance. Although differentiation in color patterns has documented among species/populations, these nemerteans share similar external characters. Using sequence datasets of mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI), 16S rRNA, and nuclear 28S rRNA genes specimens from localities Canada, USA, Russia, Japan, China, we analyzed...

The Chinese scrub vole (Neodon irene) belongs to the subfamily Arvicolinae, which is restricted mountain areas at high altitudes (2800–4000). In this study, we sequenced complete mitochondrial genome of N. irene. It was determined be 16,367 bases. nucleotide sequence data 12 heavy-strand protein-coding genes irene and other 22 rodents were used for phylogenetic analysis. Bayesian inference (BI) maximum likelihood (ML) used. Both BI ML trees demonstrated that Microtus rossiaemeridionalis...

The diversity of lignicolous freshwater fungi China is currently being studied. In this paper, we report on nine collections asexual morphs Helminthosporium from submerged wood in rivers and streams west to north-west Yunnan Province, China. taxa are characterized based morphology phylogenetic analyses ITS, LSU, SSU, RPB2 TEF1α sequence data. A new species, submersum, described illustrated with notes taxonomy phylogeny. Molecular data for aquaticum H. velutinum provided.

Malaria transmission depends on infected mosquitoes and can be controlled by transmission-blocking drugs. The recently discovered FREP1-mediated malaria pathway is an excellent target to screen drugs for limiting transmission. To identify candidate small molecules, we used ELISA-based approach analyze extracts from a fungal library inhibition of the FREP1-parasite interaction. We isolated determined one active compound chromatography crystallography, respectively. measured effects bioactive...

Conidiophores are long and repetitive branched, forming 1–3 short conidia sympodial arrangement at the apex. Conidia commonly elongated fusoid, rostrate, slightly inflated middle, straight or curved, 5–9 septate, tapering evenly towards base, end cell elongate, to point distal, 88.9–143.1(120.8) × 8.2–11.2(9.9) µm, 22.4–40.2...
