Developing CO-tolerant Pt-based catalysts for the hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR) is critical commercialization of fuel cells and thus receiving increasing interest. Although it known that weakening CO adsorption on Pt can improve tolerance, efficient strategies are still needed. Inspired by theoretical simulations, we propose here a cascade strategy to synergistically mitigate electron back-donation 5d → 2π* introducing single-atomic Fe–N–C substrate alloying, which significantly boosts...

Contact electrification (CE) involves a complex interplay of physical interactions in realistic material systems. For this reason, scientific consensus on the qualitative and quantitative importance different mechanisms CE remains formidable task. The mechanism at water/polymer interface is crucial challenge owing to poor understanding charge transfer atomic level. First-principle density functional theory (DFT), used present work, proposes new paradigm address CE. Our results indicate that...

Abstract Uncontrolled Zn dendrites and undesirable side reactions such as self‐corrosion hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) remain major challenges for the further development of aqueous batteries (AZBs). In this study, macrolide antibiotics are proposed to be added electrolyte, serving ionophores modulate 2+ solvation structure, regulate electrodeposition, suppress parasitic reactions. Azithromycin (Azi), a representative antibiotic, is demonstrated undergo bidentate coordination with ions...

Two-dimensional (2D) layered piezoelectric nanomaterials are attractive for application in mechanical energy-harvesting devices. In this study, 2D nanosheets, h-BN and MX2 (M = Mo or W; X S, Se, Te), deposited on a silicon substrate to form cantilever energy harvesters. Using density functional theory (DFT) molecular dynamics (MD) calculations, the effect of harvesting is studied. The provides layers with stable support while maintaining effective harvesting. MD results indicate that...

We use molecular dynamics simulations (MD) to study piezoelectric properties of hexagonal boron nitride nanosheets (BNNS) and reveal how depend on size shape. first analyze the macroscopic shape affects full 2D structure symmetry its tensor. In particular, we demonstrate that a (rectangular)-shaped BNNS belongs 6̄m2 (monoclinic m) point group. Our simulation results show constants strongly shape, in agreement with structure, but are nearly independent size. The present provides detailed...

Abstract An Early Devonian (Pragian) plant, Hueberia zhichangensis gen. et sp. nov., is described from the Posongchong Formation, Wenshan district of southern Yunnan, China. It characterized by stems < 2 mm wide and closely helically‐arranged enations. A creeping habit suggested due to K‐type branching. No fertile organs are preserved. nov. resembles Drepanophycus Kaulangiophyton, but much smaller has a more regular phyllotaxy.
