This article describes the high-speed system designed to meet challenging requirements for readout of new pixel VErtex LOcator (VELO) upgraded LHCb experiment. All elements electronics chain will be renewed cope with requirement ~40-MHz full-event rate. The sensors equipped VeloPix ASICs and placed at ~5 mm from Large Hadron Collider (LHC) beams in a secondary vacuum tank an extremely high nonhomogeneous radiation environment. front-end (FE) highest occupancy have pixel-hit rates above ~900...

In shared-memory multicore architectures, handling a write cache operation is more complicated than in single processor systems. A line may be present one private L1 cache. Any willing to this must inform all the other sharers. Therefore, it necessary implement coherence protocol for architectures. At present, directory based protocols are popular both industry and academic domains because of their reduced traffic compared snooping protocols, at expense an indirection. The policy - through...

The new LHCb Vertex Locator (VELO) for LHCb, comprising a pixel detector and readout electronics, will be installed in 2021 data taking Run 3 at the LHC. electronics centers around "VeloPix" ASIC front-end operating trigger-less 40MHz. A custom serializer, called gigabit wireline transmitter (GWT), associated protocol have been designed VeloPix. GWT are sent from serializers of VeloPix line rate 5.12 Gb/s, reaching total 2–3 Tb/s full VELO detector. Data over 300-m optic-fiber links to...

The Large Hadron Collider beauty (LHCb) detector is designed to detect decays of b- and c- hadrons for the study CP violation rare decays. At end LHC Run 2, many LHCb measurements remained statistically dominated. In order increase trigger yield purely hadronic channels, hardware will be removed, read out at 40 MHz. This, in combination with five-fold luminosity, requires radical changes LHCb's electronics, and, some cases, replacement entire sub-detectors state-of-the-art technologies....

CuInS2 quantum dots have been studied in a broad range of applications, but despite this, the fine details their charge carrier dynamics remain subject intense debate. Two most relevant points discussion are hole and influence Cu:In synthesis stoichiometry on them. It has proposed that Cu-deficiency leads to formation Cu2+, affecting localization holes into Cu defects. Importantly, it is precisely these confined states which used explain interesting photoluminescence properties dots. We use...

Studies of the central exclusive production (CEP) vector mesons in pp collisions at LHCb are reported.A search is performed for CEP charmonium pairs using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity 3 fb -1 collected centre-of-mass energies 7 and 8 TeV.Pairs J/ψ J/ψψ(2S) observed absence any other activity inside acceptance measured cross sections consistent with theoretical expectations.A study Υ (nS) states based on same presented. The (1S) section as a function rapidity found be good...
