In this study the relations among nonbridging oxygen (NBO), optical properties, basicity, and color center formation in CaO–MgO aluminosilicate glasses were studied. Samples containing (in mol %) 35.9–57.5 of CaO, 16–27.7 Al2O3, 7.9–41.6 SiO2, 6.5–6.9 MgO measured by absorption excitation, luminescence, Raman spectroscopy. The results showed that when SiO2 content was increased, edge shifted toward lower wavelengths bonds between O2− ions cations became more covalent. These observations...

ZBLAN glasses with the composition (in mol%) of (100 − x)(53 ZrF4 + 19 BaF2 5LaF3 3AlF3 20NaF) xTiO2 (x = 0, 1.0 and 2.0 were prepared using a conventional melting technique in dry nitrogen atmosphere. The thermal stability, glass-forming ability, crystallization kinetics system as function TiO2 concentrations investigated by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). Also, crystalline phases determined X-ray Diffraction (XRD). Our study indicates that adding fluoride improves parameters...

"Calcium aluminosilicate" (CAS) and "low silica calcium (LSCAS) OH− free glasses have demonstrated a good potential for solid-state laser media luminophore hosts due to thermal, optical, mechanical properties. Some examples already been shown with Nd3+, Er3+, Ce3+, Ti3+ luminescent ions. In this work, Yb3+ rare-earth ions introduced into the two series of CAS LSCAS melted at 1600 °C in vacuum furnace optically characterized compared. Special attention has devoted both structural...

We present our recent achievements of a glass able to produce smart white light combining phosphor with emitting diodes (LEDs). The combined emissions Ce3+-doped calcium aluminosilicate and the 405 nm LED using Commission Internationale de l’Éclairage 1931 chromatic diagram showed that this system presents an emission close ideal allows tunability. In addition, blue overlaps spectral range retinal photoreceptors involved in circadian responses. This UV is suitable for lights therefore may...

In the present study we evaluate effect of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) carrying usnic acid (UA) as chemical cargo on soil microbial community in a dystrophic red latosol (oxysol). Herein, 500 ppm UA or SPIONs-framework were diluted sterile ultrapure deionized water and applied by hand sprayer top soil. The experiment was conducted growth chamber at 25 °C, with relative humidity 80% 16 h/8 h light–dark cycle (600 lx light intensity) for 30 days. Sterile used negative...

We have been able to discriminate different castes and sexes of ants in the same colony by measuring cuticular hydrocarbon levels with Fourier transform infrared photoacoustic spectroscopy, compared canonical discriminant function analysis. now applied this methodology various colonies two species genus Ectatomma Brazilian Cerrado. There were clear interspecific differences hydrocarbons these ants, a small intraspecific variation. The between greater E. brunneum than vizottoi. Genetic among...

In this paper we report results of tunable lighting in Ce(3+)/Eu(2+,3+) doped low silica calcium aluminosilicate glass. Optical spectroscopy experiments indicate that there is a red color compensation from Eu(2+) and Eu(3+) to the green emission Ce(3+), resulting broad spectra depending on excitation wavelength. This result analysed CIE 1976 diagram shows close distance Plank correlated temperature, varying 5200 3500K. indicates our system can be easily excited by GaN based blue LEDs, being...

In this paper, a broad combined orange-red emission from Eu²⁺- and Eu³⁺-doped low-silica calcium aluminosilicate (LSCAS) glass is reported. Spectroscopic results demonstrate that it possible to tune the wavelength by changing excitation in UV-Vis region. The color coordinates for spectra were calculated, using Commission Internationale de l'Éclairage 1931 1976 chromatic diagrams, note they are dependent on wavelength. addition, (u', v') investigated LSCAS samples close Planckian spectrum...
