X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis, transmission electron microscopy, bulk magnetisation and 57Fe Mossbauer effect measurements have been used to study the structure stability of rapidly quenched Al100-xFex alloys for 2<or=x<or=22. Alloys with 2<or=x<or=4 show a supersaturated solution Fe in FCC Al. x>or=4 phase quasicrystalline phase. The stoichiometry this latter is found be close Al4Fe. results indicate an environment lower symmetry closer Al neighbours than crystalline Al6Fe.
