Microneedles (MNs) are micron-sized needles, typically <2 mm in length, arranged either as an array or single needle. These MNs offer a minimally invasive approach to ocular drug delivery due their micron size (reducing tissue damage compared that of hypodermic needles) and overcoming significant barriers administration. While various types have been extensively researched, progress has made the use hollow (HMNs) for delivery, specifically through suprachoroidal injections. The space,...
The treatment strategy required for the effective healing of diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is a complex process that requiring several combined therapeutic approaches. As result, there significant clinical and economic burden associated in treating DFU. Furthermore, these treatments are often unsuccessful, commonly resulting lower-limb amputation. use drug-loaded scaffolds to treat DFU has previously been investigated using electrospinning fused deposition modelling (FDM) 3D printing techniques;...
YouTube contains a large volume of medical educational material. This study assessed the quality respiratory auscultation videos contained in YouTube. Videos were searched for using terms 'breath sounds', 'respiratory auscultation' and/or 'lung sounds'. In total, 6,022 located, 36 which considered suitable scoring video accuracy, comprehensiveness and quality. The average score was 3.32/6 (55.3% ± 1.30). Video correlated with time-adjusted metadata: hits per day (0.496, p=0.002) likes...
Summary Physical therapy treatments for and evaluation of lower limb swelling are usually performed in supine lying position. However, the is treated or assessed dependent position, i.e. sitting standing. The purpose this study was to determine possible confounding effect subject positioning on foot ankle volume. Sixty healthy individuals were randomly positioned into motionless standing, 30 min. Volumetric measurements dominant leg taken with a volumeter before after min positioning. A...
Purpose : To examine the experiences of a cohort health and physical education teachers consultants who were learning to become instructional coaches. Methods Three surveys three focus groups administered 14 participants over 9 months consider their Concepts from expectancy-value theory guided analyses both quantitative qualitative data. Results Participants reported positive Understanding importance-utility value increased significantly between administration initial end surveys. Focus...
Abstract Purpose: The current gold standard treatment option for posterior segment diseases such as age‐related macular degeneration is the delivery of drug into vitreous cavity by intravitreal injection. This method is, however, associated with several issues including low patient compliance and risk adverse effects [1]. Microneedles (MNs), designed to deliver their payload sclera, offer a minimally invasive means providing localized eye, potentially more patient‐friendly alternative. MNs...
