This state candidate hypothetical exotic Xi(--)(3/2) S=-2, I=3 / 2, quark content (dsdsū). At same mass, peak observed Xi(-)pi(+)...
Feasibility of the multi-layer cross-point structured binary oxide resistive memory (OxRRAM) has been tested for next generation non-volatile random access high density data storage application. Novel plug contact type bottom electrode (plug-BE) could reduce active cell diameter down to 50nm with smaller operation current and improved switching distributions. With 2 additional masks, one layer plug-BE included array be added on top another one. No signal inter-layer interference observed....
The extensive design effort for KSTAR has been focused on two major aspects of the project mission - steady-state-operation capability and advanced tokamak physics. steady state aspect is reflected in choice superconducting magnets, provision actively cooled in-vessel components, long pulse current drive heating systems. incorporated features associated with flexible plasma shaping, double null divertor passive stabilizers, internal control coils a comprehensive set diagnostics. Substantial...
The transverse mass ${m}_{t}$ distributions for antiprotons are measured at midrapidity minimum bias Pb+Pb collisions 158A GeV and central 20A, 30A, 40A, 80A beam energies in the fixed target experiment NA49 CERN SPS. rapidity density $\mathit{dn}/\mathit{dy}$, inverse slope parameter T, mean $\ensuremath{\langle}{m}_{t}\ensuremath{\rangle}$ derived from studied as a function of incident energy collision centrality compared to relevant data on proton production. shapes $\overline{p}$ p very...

Production of Lambda and Antilambda hyperons was measured in central Pb-Pb collisions at 40, 80, 158 A$\cdot$GeV beam energy on a fixed target. Transverse mass spectra rapidity distributions are given for all three energies. The $\Lambda/\pi$ ratio mid-rapidity full phase space shows pronounced maximum between the highest AGS 40 SPS energies, whereas $\bar{\Lambda}/\pi$ exhibits monotonic increase.
Results are presented on event-by-event fluctuations in transverse momentum of charged particles, produced at forward rapidities p+p, C+C, Si+Si and Pb+Pb collisions 158 AGeV. Three different characteristics discussed: the average event, Phi_pT fluctuation measure two-particle correlations. In kinematic region explored, dynamical found to be small. However, a significant system size dependence is observed, with largest value measured peripheral interactions. The data compared predictions...
We present measurements of the energy dependence event-by-event fluctuations in K/pi and (p + \bar{p})/pi multiplicity ratios heavy ion collisions at CERN SPS. The particle ratio were obtained for central Pb+Pb five collision energies, \sqrt{s_{_{NN}}}, between 6.3 17.3 GeV. After accounting effects finite-number statistics detector resolution, we extract strength non-statistical each energy. For ratio, larger than expected independent production are found all energies. smaller expectations...
We propose the enhancement of Lambdac as a novel quark-gluon plasma signal in heavy ion collisions at BNL Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider and CERN Large Hadron Collider. Assuming stable bound diquark state strongly coupled near critical temperature, we argue that direct two-body collision between c quark [ud] would lead to an enhanced production comparison with normal three-body among independent c, u, d quarks. In coalescence model, find Lambdac/D yield ratio is substantially due correlation.
Emission of pi+/-, K+/-, phi, and Lambda was measured in near-central C+C Si+Si collisions at 158 AGeV beam energy. Together with earlier data for p+p, S+S, Pb+Pb, the system-size dependence relative strangeness production nucleus-nucleus is obtained. Its fast rise saturation observed about 60 participating nucleons can be understood as onset formation coherent systems increasing size.
Results are presented on event-by-event fluctuations of transverse momenta pT in central Pb+Pb interactions at 20A, 30A, 40A, 80A, and 158A GeV. The analysis was performed for charged particles forward center-of-mass rapidity (1.1<yπ*<2.6). Three fluctuation measures were studied: the distribution average momentum M(pT) event, ΦpT measure, two-particle correlations. Fluctuations small show no significant energy dependence range CERN Super Proton Synchrotron. compared with QCD-inspired...

Results are presented on Omega production in central Pb+Pb collisions at 40 and 158 AGeV beam energy. Given transverse-mass spectra, rapidity distributions, total yields for the sum Omega+Antiomega Antiomega separately AGeV. The strongly under-predicted by string-hadronic UrQMD model better agreement with predictions from a hadron gas models.
Results are presented on event-by-event electric charge fluctuations in central Pb+Pb collisions at 20, 30, 40, 80 and 158 AGeV. The observed close to those expected for a gas of pions correlated by global conservation only. These considerably larger than calculated an ideal deconfined quarks gluons. present measurements do not necessarily exclude reduced from quark-gluon plasma because these might be masked contributions resonance decays.
Results on Lambda, Anti-lambda, and Xi- production in centrality selected Pb+Pb reactions at 40A 158A GeV near-central C+C Si+Si are presented. Transverse mass spectra, rapidity multiplicities dependence of the system size discussed. Comparisons to transport models (UrQMD2.3 HSD) core-corona approach performed. While Lambda Anti-lambda can be described by reasonably well, these do not agree with measurements. On other hand, picture fits very well system-size Xi-, while it agrees less data.
Transverse momentum spectra up to 4.5 GeV/c around midrapidity of pi^{+/-}, p, pbar, K^{+/-} in Pb+Pb reactions were measured at sqrt{s_{NN}}=17.3 GeV by the CERN-NA49 experiment. The nuclear modification factors R_{AA} for pi^{+/-} and R_{CP} pi^{+/-},p,pbar,K^{+/-} extracted are compared RHIC results sqrt{s_{NN}}=200 GeV. factor shows a rapid increase with transverse covered region. This indicates that Cronin effect is dominating our energy range. R_{CP}, which contribution reduced,...
New results from the energy scan programme of NA49, in particular kaon production at 30 AGeV and phi 40 80 are presented. The K+/pi+ ratio shows a pronounced maximum AGeV; slope parameters constant SPS energies. Both findings support scenario phase transition about beam energy. phi/pi increases smoothly with energy, showing an dependence similar to K-/pi-. measured particle yields can be reproduced by hadron gas model, chemical freeze-out on smooth curve T-muB plane. transverse spectra...
Electric charge correlations were studied for p+p, C+C, Si+Si, and centrality selected Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{{s}_{\mathrm{NN}}}=17.2$ GeV with the NA49 large acceptance detector CERN SPS. In particular, long-range pseudorapidity of oppositely charged particles measured using balance function method. The width decreases increasing system size reactions. This decrease could be related to an delay hadronization in central collisions.
