Previous studies demonstrated insulin resistance and increased prevalence of impaired glucose tolerance type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients with primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT). The effect curative parathyroidectomy on sensitivity was associated conflicting results depending which method for measuring the has been used. There no improvement using HOMA QUICKI while minimal model significant sensitivity. aim our study to evaluate before after PHPT a euglycemic clamp. 44 11 age body mass...

Summary OBJECTIVE Growth hormone (GH) secretion in middle and late adulthood declines with age. However, the precise mechanisms causing this impairment OH release are unknown. HIs‐D‐Trp‐Ala‐Trp‐D‐Phe‐Lys‐NH 2 (GHRP‐6) Is a synthetic compound that releases dose related specific manner several species, including man. In order to gain further Insight Into disrupted GH adulthood, we evaluated responses GHRP‐6 or GHRH, administered either alone combination, healthy young groups of subjects....

The study was conducted to assess leptin levels and insulin sensitivity in obese non-obese patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Twenty-two women PCOS 19 control healthy were included the study, divided into groups. Leptin determined using Linco Research radioimmunoassay while calculatedfrom intravenous glucose tolerance tests frequent blood sampling MINMOD analysis. Significantly higher basal found compared (31.76 ± 3.06 vs. 10.42 2.31 ng/ml; p < 0.05) as well comparison...

Cycles of excessive cortisol secretion have been reported interposed with phases remission lasting from few days to several months. In this study we report a ten year follow up on patient who had four episodes hypercortisolism and Cushing's syndrome associated hypokalemia edema three long spontaneous remissions. This was all caused by corticotroph pituitary adenoma. She demonstrated the longest phase yet recorded in condition, 4.5 years.

Summary Objective A high prevalence of insulin resistance (IR) has proven to manifest in patients with adrenal incidentalomas (AI). It been demonstrated that an increase IR is related the size tumourous masses; additionally, luteinizing hormone (LH)‐dependent pathologies are well documented LH‐responsive tumours occurring under conditions physiologically elevated LH. We hypothesized association between LH and might play a role tumourigenesis steroidogenesis. Design The aim our study was...

Background Disrupted sleep affects cardio-metabolic and reproductive health. Obstructive apnea syndrome represents a major complication of obesity has been associated with gonadal axis activity changes lower serum testosterone concentration in men. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is considered a metabolic disorder closely related to obesity, insulin resistance (IR), hyperinsulinemia and unfavorable lipid profile, all increasing the risk for occurrence of cardiovascular diseases. The aim this study was assess age body mass index (BMI) changes factors in 90 women with PCOS. cut-off point 30 years BMI 27.8 kg/m2. In patients systolic diastolic blood pressure (BP), parameters comprising values glucose during oral tolerance test (OGTT),...

OBJECTIVE GH deficiency, either in children or adults, is a clinically relevant problem. The diagnosis based on dynamic tests of secretion, which are clear cut group basis but highly problematic for individual diagnosis. controversy surrounding the deficiency reflects absence gold standard test. synthetic hexapeptide hexarelin and GHRH stimulate secretion using different mechanisms. A sequential test has been devised administration as first stimulus followed 120 minutes later by hexarelin....

OBJECTIVE: GH secretagogues and GH-releasing hormone (GHRH) exert a complex cross-talk at the somatotrope cell, undertake homologous heterologous desensitization. On other hand, discovery of ghrelin as new factor implicated in regulation secretion makes thorough assessment its properties cell biology processes mandatory. In order to implement this, three different testing schedules were devised using administration, on same day, two stimuli administered sequential 120 min apart. The aims...

Euglycemic clamps were performed using artificial endocrine pancreas (Clamp Mode 9:1) while infusion (Humulin Normal-Lilly) rate 0.1 U/kg BW/h. We report a 34-year-old woman with sequentially occurring autoimmune diseases that are possibly triggered by numerous ovulation inductions. At the ages of 26–32 years, she experienced 21 uncontrolled induction cycles using clomiphene citrate (CC) or CC plus human menopausal gonadotropin chorionic gonadotropin. She became pregnant at 27, 30 and 31 subsequent pregnancy loss in 28th, 8th 10th week gestation, respectively. Insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) developed age 28. During...

Hyperandrogenism in postmenopausal women is due to ovarian hyperthecosis or an androgen-secreting ovarian/adrenal tumor. Making the correct diagnosis might be complicated possible existence of adrenal neoplasm secreting testosterone only, ectopic tissue luteinizing hormone/human chorionic gonadotropin receptors adrenals, as well relatively low sensitivity imaging techniques (computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging) and vein catheterization for this type pathology. We present case...

Insulinoma is a rare pancreatic endocrine tumour and typically sporadic solitary. Over 90% of all insulinomas are benign. Cystic also rare. It not difficult to determine the site such neoplasm, as cystic usually 4–10 cm in diameter. We present case patient with histologically confirmed insulinoma diagnosed after approximately 10 years hypoglycaemia symptoms. This unique because small size (2.2 cm) tumour.
