This study examines indicators of family strength among a random sample low‐income households with children. The Family Strength Index assesses according to economic, problem‐solving, communication, cohesion, and social support assets. Variations in are explained parental status level employment. This paper investigates the relationship between proportion of time husbands and wives spend in individual, joint, parallel leisure activities marital satisfaction over five career periods.
