Tidal disruption events (TDEs) are transient flares produced when a star is ripped apart by the gravitational field of supermassive black hole (SMBH). We have observed source in western nucleus merging galaxy pair Arp 299 that radiated >1.5x10^52 erg infrared and radio, but was not luminous at optical or X-ray wavelengths. interpret this as TDE with much its emission re-radiated wavelengths dust. Efficient reprocessing dense gas dust may explain difference between theoretical predictions...

We analyse new observations with the International Low Frequency Array (LOFAR) telescope, and archival data from Multi-Element Radio Linked Interferometer Network (MERLIN) Karl G. Jansky Very Large (VLA). model spatially resolved radio spectrum of Arp 220 150 MHz to 33 GHz. present an image at resolution $0.65''\times0.35''$, sensitivity 0.15 mJy beam$^{-1}$, integrated flux density $394\pm59$ mJy. More than 80% detected comes extended ($6''\approx$2.2 kpc) steep ($\alpha=-0.7$) emission,...

We present the final data release of APEX low-redshift legacy survey for molecular gas (ALLSMOG), comprising CO(2-1) emission line observations 88 nearby, low-mass (10^8.5<M* [M_Sun]<10^10) star-forming galaxies carried out with 230 GHz APEX-1 receiver on telescope. The main goal ALLSMOG is to probe content more typical and lower stellar mass than have been studied by previous CO surveys. also IRAM 30m CO(1-0) lines in nine aimed at increasing M*<10^9 M_Sun sample size. In this paper we...

We report on the first sub-arcsecond (0.44 × 0.41 arcsec 2 ) angular resolution image at 150 MHz of A-nucleus in luminous infrared galaxy Arp 299, from International Low Frequency Array (LOFAR) Telescope observations. The most remarkable finding is that an intriguing two-sided, filamentary structure emanating A-nucleus, which we interpret as outflow extends up to least 14 N–S direction ( ≈5 kpc deprojected size) and accounts for almost 40% extended emission entire system. also discuss...

We study for the first time low-frequency ($\sim$150 MHz) radio brightness distribution of Arp~299 at subarcsecond resolution, tracing in both compact and extended emission regions local spectral energy (SED) order to characterize dominant absorption processes. analysed spatially resolved Arp 299 revealed by 150 MHz international baseline Low-Frequency Array (LOFAR) 1.4, 5.0, 8.4 GHz Very Large (VLA) observations. present (0.4"$\sim$100~pc) image whole system 150~MHz. The high surface...

The central few hundred parsecs of Ultra/Luminous Infrared Galaxies (U/LIRGs) are hidden from view at most wavelengths due to the presence large amounts dust.Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) observations a powerful tool unveil nature sources beyond dust clouds. In fact, radio unaffected by dust, and thanks high angular resolution able pinpoint compact components in regions U/LIRGs.Thus, VLBI can potentially disentangle dominant mechanism responsible for heating U/LIRGs, i.e., an...
