Nanoparticles exhibiting a cooperative spin transition, prepared using the reverse micelle technique, are reported. A 40 K magnetic hysteresis is observed near room temperature for [Fe(Htrz)2(trz)](BF4) nanoparticles (where trz triazole derivative) of 11 ± 5 nm in diameter. The figure shows octane low-spin state (left) and high-spin (right). Nanocrystals of the three-dimensional, spin-crossover, porous coordination framework [Fe(pz)Pt(CN)4]⋅n H2O (pz=pyrazine; n≤2.5) have been synthesized from water-in-oil microemulsions. The surfactant-free nanocrystals readily desorb water and resulting anhydrous compounds exhibit thermally induced electronic bistability accompanied by a pronounced color change (see picture; HS=high spin, LS=low spin) close to room temperature.

Clay minerals and sheet silicates are the main constituents of lutites clays. These materials relevant in earth science research as well economic geology because great variety applications, based on their particular features at different levels aggregation mineral assemblages microstructural structural characteristics frequently characterized by micro- nanocrystalline appearance. Thus, X-ray diffraction is a tool for fundamental applied these materials. The present review concerns from powder data.

ABSTRACT Sustainable biocomposite materials based on the combination of polyhydroxyalkanoates with a keratin additive derived from poultry feathers were successfully developed via melt compounding. Suitable dispersions for low loadings in biopolymeric matrix achieved by melt‐mixing technique. A good physical interaction between polymeric and was observed scanning electron microscopy (SEM). ABSTRACT This work reports on the combination of polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA)‐based materials and nanokeratin extracted from poultry feathers (a food by‐product) using different approaches. In first approach, high‐barrier nanobiocomposites based PHAs with a additive were successfully developed via both (i) direct melt compounding (ii) preincorporated into an electrospun masterbatch PHA which was subsequently compounded pellets. Enhanced barrier properties for obtained seen to depend grade...
