Nanocrystalline compounds LiNb1−xTaxO3 of various compositions (x = 0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1) were synthesized by high-energy ball milling the initial materials (Li2CO3, Nb2O5, Ta2O5) and subsequent high-temperature annealing resulting powders. Data on phase composition nanopowders obtained X-ray diffraction methods, dependence structural parameters value x was established. As a result experiments, optimal runs determined, which made it possible to obtain single-phase compounds. The Raman...

In the current work, nanocrystalline powders with different compositions, namely Li0.98Pr0.02NbO3, Li0.93Pr0.02Mg0.05NbO3 and Li0.98Pr0.02TaO3 were synthesized for first time using method of high-energy ball milling starting materials (Li2CO3, Nb2O5, Ta2O5, MgO, Pr6O11), followed by high-temperature annealing. XRD data analysis confirmed absence parasitic phases in obtained compounds. The estimated particle sizes ranged from 20 to 80 nm. From nanopowders, ceramic samples prepared specially...

Clay minerals are widely used to treat groundwater and surface water containing radionuclides. In our study, the method of mechanochemical activation for increasing sorption capacity natural clay mineral montmorillonite was used. By adjusting grinding time, parameters mechanochemically activated were determined. X-ray diffraction method, scanning electron microscopy, determination specific by low-temperature adsorption–desorption nitrogen characterize mechanochemical-activated...

A simple approach is presented to synthesise the high-purity MAX phase by pressureless method. This method featured short time in duration. The process executed with a high heating rate (up ≅ 10 2 K/min) that inhibits formation of objectionable phases and limits elemental loss due short-time process. The samples containing 96% wt. Ti3AlC2 are successfully synthesised using proposed technique.
