1. Salmonella Gallinarum (SG) infections cause fowl typhoid, which leads to important economic losses. Multidrug resistance (MDR) and the capacity for bacteria form biofilms could play an role in persistence of SG poultry flocks resulting intermittent disease outbreaks. The aim following study was assess lytic activity two new bacteriophages (Salmonella phages UPF_BP1 UPF_BP2) against MDR biofilm-forming SG.2. Forty-six strains SG, isolated 2015, were characterised by antimicrobial...

Canine babesiosis is a disease caused by protozoans of the genus Babesia. Thespecies Babesia canis and gibsoni are spread all around world.Babesia classified into three subspecies: B. canis, vogeli rossi. The identification individual species has traditionally beenbased on morphologic features intraerythrocytic forms. largepiroplasm (4-5?m) which usually occurs as single pear-shaped piroplasm or pairsof merozoítes that divides through binary fission within erythrocyte, B.gibsoni, small...

The objective of this study was to design and evaluate new primers for species-specific detection L. infantum chagasi using PCR. Two combinations primer pairs were established with the aim obtaining specific amplification products from 18S rRNA gene. respective sizes PCR products, based on U422465 GenBank reference sequence chagasi, were: LCS1/LCS3 (259 bp) LCS2/LCS3 (820 bp). It concluded that assays optimized effective analytical sensitivity detect 1 pg/µL DNA.

These ticks use pasture questing seek out their hosts in the open spaces of grassland habitats. Using an olfactometer bioassay, where larva could express questing, authors aimed answer whether R. exhibit behaviors depending on bovine breed.
