We generated a record peak intensity of 0.7 x 10(22) W/cm2 by focusing 45-TW laser beam with an f/0.6 off-axis paraboloid. The aberrations the paraboloid and low-energy reference were measured corrected, focal spot size 0.8 microm was achieved. It is shown that can be increased to 1.0 correction wave front relative beam. phase amplitude measurement provides for efficient full characterization field.

Target-plane intensities on the short-pulse beamlines of OMEGA EP, a petawatt-class laser, are characterized on-shot using focal-spot diagnostic (FSD), an indirect wavefront-based measurement.
