Heat-resistant Al alloys used in such as aerospace, transportation fields are attracting more and attention recent years. Within alloy families, Al–Cu–Mg have shown promising heat resistance properties. This work aims to investigate the influence of Cu/Mg ratio content on alloys, based Al–4.5Cu–2.5 Mg (referred A), Al–4.0Cu–2.2 (alloy B) Al–4.5Cu–1.6 C). The A B possessed approximate ratio, they also exhibited nearly identical hardness retention rate during exposure at 200 °C. After h, is...
Ultra-fine grained magnesium alloys are usually prepared by severe deformation and medium-low temperature deformation. In this work, it has been found that the binary Mg-1.2Ce alloy with uniform distributed Mg12Ce precipitates smaller than 3 μm is a good candidate to obtain ultra-fine grains conventional one-step extrusion at high temperatures. All three samples extruded 300 °C, 350 °C 400 show bimodal microstructure high-density dislocations, whose average grain sizes 1.19 ± 0.92 μm, 1.32...
Electrical connection of dissimilar metals will lead to galvanic corrosion. Therefore, overall surface treatment is necessary for the protection metal welded parts. However, serious unbalanced reactions may occur during treatment, which makes it difficult prepare integral coating. In this paper, an ceramic coating was fabricated by plasma electrolytic oxidation wrap 6061-7075 part integrally. Moreover, growth mechanism on different areas studied based dielectric breakdown theory. The...
The magnesium–aluminium connecting parts are important application form for lightweight structural materials. But the conductive connect of magnesium and aluminium will cause serious galvanic corrosion problems. Therefore, overall protective treatment is necessary. A ceramic coating was prepared via micro-arc oxidation to wrap part integrally. surface morphologies compositions coatings were analysed by scanning electron microscopy X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy. behaviour investigated...
In the present study, microstructure and mechanical properties of a new Mg-4Al-3.5Ca-2Gd (AXE432) alloy are investigated. The as-cast AXE432 consists α-Mg, C14 (Mg2Ca), C36((Mg, Al)2Ca) phases. After heat treatment at 480 °C for 8 h, with fine lamellar structure changes from narrow stripes to micro-scale particles, part C36 dissolve into α-Mg matrix, many short needle-shaped C15 (Al2Ca) phase precipitating in primary a-Mg grains. extruded temperature as high 420 exhibits refined dynamically...
