Abstract Phyllidia flava , the only Mediterranean representative of otherwise Indo-Pacific family Phyllididae, is a radula-less dorid nudibranch that feeds exclusively on toxic sponges, from which it derives defensive and camouflage compounds. Although not currently listed as endangered, this relict species remains vulnerable due to its restricted distribution rising temperatures Sea. A total 13 contiguous chromosomal pseudomolecules were assembled, resulting in chromosome-level genome...
Background: Reference genomes for the entire sea turtle clade have potential to reveal genetic basis of traits driving ecological and phenotypic diversity in these ancient iconic marine species. Furthermore, genomic resources can support conservation efforts deepen our understanding their unique evolution. Results: We present haplotype-resolved, chromosome-level reference high-quality gene annotations five This completes catalog when combined with previously published genomes. Our analysis...
The reference genome of Apodemus agrarius provides a valuable resource for phylogenetic studies rodents, particularly mice, and understanding factors that influence the geographical distribution species across East Asia Europe. A total 25 contiguous chromosomal pseudomolecules were assembled from sequence (23 autosomes 2 sex chromosomes). This chromosome-level assembly encompasses 2.6 Gb, composed 242 contigs 60 scaffolds, with contig scaffold N50 values 35 Mb 119 Mb, respectively.
The reference genome of Rupicapra rupicapra (subsp. ) provides insights into the genetic makeup that enabled this iconic mountain ungulate to adapt its harsh environment, including ability survive in extreme weather and high altitudes—factors are increasingly important face climate change. A total 29 contiguous chromosomal pseudomolecules were assembled from sequence. This chromosome-level assembly encompasses 2.62 Gb, composed 124 contigs 76 scaffolds, with contig scaffold N50...
Malpolon monspessulanus is a large, rear-fanged snake widely distributed across Mediterranean habitats, where it plays an essential ecological role by controlling populations of small vertebrates. The reference genome this species offers crucial resource for uncovering the genomic foundations underlying venom evolution in snakes. A total 23 contiguous chromosomal pseudomolecules (21 autosomes and two sex chromosomes) were assembled from sequence. This chromosome-level assembly encompasses...
High-throughput transcriptome studies are breaking new ground to investigate the responses that organisms deploy in alternative environments. Nevertheless, much remains be understood about genetic basis of host plant adaptation. Here, we genome-wide expression fly Drosophila buzzatii raised different conditions. This species uses decaying tissues cactus genus Opuntia as primary rearing substrate and secondarily, necrotic columnar Trichocereus terscheckii. The latter constitutes a harmful...
Abstract Cultural transformations of lifestyles and dietary practices have been key drivers human evolution. However, while most the evidence genomic adaptations is related to hunter-gatherer transition agricultural societies, little known on influence other major cultural manifestations. Shamanism considered oldest religion that predominated throughout prehistory still prevails in many indigenous populations. Several lines from ethno-archeological studies demonstrated continuity importance...
The Pleistocene refugia theory proposes that recurrent expansions and contractions of xerophytic vegetation over periods climate change affected the evolution cactophilic Drosophila in South America. resulting demographic fluctuations linked to available patches should have been prone bottlenecks founder events, affecting fate gene pool dynamics. However, these events also promoted diversification cacti, creating an ecological opportunity for host specialization. We tested hypothesis...

Abstract The reference genome of Gluvia dorsalis is the first its order Solifugae (sun spiders), offering insights into adaptations to arid environments and evolutionary history arachnids. entirety sequence was assembled 5 contiguous chromosomal pseudomolecules. This chromosome-level assembly encompasses 787 Mb, composed 51 contigs 10 scaffolds (including mitogenome), with contig scaffold N50 values 38 Mb 199 respectively.
