Abstract This work assesses potential physicochemical, metallic, and radiological contamination of liquid discharges from the phosphoric acid (PA) production unit at coast El Jadida Province in Morocco. The physicochemical parameters: pH, conductivity, salinity, turbidity, total hardness, nitrate, nitrite, orthophosphate, heavy metals were analyzed PA beach samples. 238 U, 232 Th, 226 Ra determined by gamma spectrometry, Radon contents using solid state detectors (LR-115). It is concluded...
Coal is the main energy source for electricity generation in world. In Morocco, 37% of comes from combustion coal thermal power plants. This process generates large amounts fly and bottom ashes. recent years, these ashes became a great topic interest because their different uses especially construction materials. this work, we assess radiation risks due to natural radioactivity samples collected JLEC (Jorf Lasfar Energy Company) plant, analyses are performed through two nuclear techniques...
This study aims to investigate the radiological impact of phosphogypsum (PG) discharge on marine environment along coast province El Jadida (Morocco). The specific activity main radionuclides present in raw phosphates, PG, and coastal sands will be measured using gamma spectrometry. volume activities radon samples sand, seawater, mussel type Mytilus galloprovincialis evaluated passive alpha dosimetry based use LR115 detectors. analysis shows that radioactivity phosphates was mainly...
Charged-particle and $\ensuremath{\gamma}$ decays in $^{24}\mathrm{Mg}{}^{*}$ are investigated for excitation energies where quasimolecular resonances appear $^{12}\mathrm{C}+^{12}\mathrm{C}$ collisions. Various theoretical predictions the occurrence of superdeformed hyperdeformed bands associated with resonance structures low spin discussed within measured energy region. The inverse kinematics reaction $^{24}\mathrm{Mg}+^{12}\mathrm{C}$ is studied at...
The aim of our present work is to measure the specific activities radionuclides 226Ra, 232Th, 40K and exhalation rates in terms area mass 222Rn some samples building materials commonly used Morocco order evaluate radiological risk caused by natural radioactivity. To this end, analyses were carried out, using two nuclear techniques, namely high resolution gamma spectrometry alpha dosimetry based on use LR115, 50 collected from large commercial suppliers Morocco. results these show that...
A radon study was conducted in 50 residences Safi city, Morocco, using LR-115 detectors. The annual effective dose and Excess Lifetime Cancer Risk were also estimated. measured concentrations ranged between the Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) 132 Bq.m−3 with an arithmetic mean 53 a geometric 41 (2.32). results indicated that 58% obtained values exceeded worldwide average value (39 Bq.m−3). In addition, revealed significant impacts floor level region on indoor levels. Inhabitants surveyed...
In this study we evaluate the uranium and radon concentrations in groundwater from Province of Safi. The samples were collected 58 wells across five communes analyzed using LR-115 type II detector. Results indicate that ranged Limit Detection (LLD) to 3.73 µg/l, with a mean 0.72 well below World Health Organization's safe limit 30 µg/l. Radon levels varied LLD 2.39 Bq/l, an average 0.60 also United States Environmental Protection Agency's 11 Bq/l. estimated total annual effective dose due...
Four new superdeformed (SD) bands have been observed in 147Gd using the EUROGAM II spectrometer. By comparison with 146,148,149Gd SD bands, we use effective alignment to assign excited band configurations, support of Nilsson-Strutinsky cranking formalism. The effect crossing [642]5/2 and [651]1/2 neutron orbitals lying just below magic N=86 shell gap has investigated for 146,147,148Gd bands. Evidence [411]1/2 orbital is also given. © 1996 American Physical Society.Received 29 July...
This work deals with the measurement of radioactivity and radon exhalation rate from building materials manufactured in Douala city geological materials. Nine types material were surveyed for their natural contents using high-resolution gamma-ray spectrometry. The activity concentrations 226Ra, 232Th 40K varied 11.5 to 49 Bq kg−1, 16 37 kg−1 306 774 respectively. absorbed dose samples investigated at 1 m above ground level ranged 28.5 66.6 nGy h−1. External internal hazard indices also...
