Using a vertical undulator, picometer electron beam emittances have been observed at the Australian Synchrotron storage ring. An APPLE-II type undulator was phased to produce horizontal magnetic field, which creates synchrotron radiation field that is very sensitive emittance. The Australian synchrotron's Storage Ring is equipped with a full compliment of 98 Libera electron beam position processors from I-tech (EBPPs) [1]. EBPPs are capable measuring data at turn-by-turn (TBT) rates and have long history buffers.
