Ticks are one of the most important vectors several pathogens affecting humans and animals. In addition to pathogens, ticks carry diverse microbiota symbiotic commensal microorganisms. this study, we have investigated first Tunisian insight into microbial composition dominant Hyalomma species infesting cattle explored relative contribution tick sex, life stage, diversity, richness bacterial microbiome. regard, next generation sequencing for 16S rRNA (V3-V4 region) metagenomic analysis were...

Abstract Previous scientific studies have listed chemical compounds from sea cucumber species. The ability to produce bioactive metabolites derives their response various ecological stresses and avoidance of predation. In view this, the present work aimed evaluate antibacterial activity quantitatively assess active components different organs Holothuria foskali collected north-east Tunisia. ethyl acetate extracts was tested against Bacillus subtilis , cereus Escherichia coli Pseudomonas...

The copepod Lernaeosera lusci is a common ectoparasite of the hake Merluccius merluccius, which constitutes its definitive host. present study first to investigate impact L. and infection intensity on fatty acid (FA) composition oil quality results revealed substantial decrease in total FA content, dropped by 50, 70 83% when fish was infected one (L1), two (L2) three (L3) parasites, respectively. lipid profile showed tendency for significant saturated (SFA), monounsaturated (MUFA)...

The present study aimed to document the interaction between mercury (Hg), as a model chemical stressor an aquatic organism, and Fatty acid (FA) profile in longitudinal muscle of sea cucumber Holothuria forskali. To assess sensitivity this species toxic effects Hg, young H. forskali were exposed gradual doses Hg (40, 80 and160 µg·L-1) for 96 h. results showed that following exposure, FA corresponded increase level saturated fatty acids, decrease monounsaturated polyunsaturated acids. most...

This study was conducted to elucidate the effects of rearing conditions on composition different phospholipid (PLs) classes and triacylglycerols (TAG) thick-lipped grey mullet (Chelon labrosus), a muscle originating from seawater geothermal water. The major fatty acids in examined lipid two fish groups were palmitic acid (C16:0), stearic (C18:0), oleic (C18:1n-9), linoleic (C18:2n-6), arachidonic (C20:4n-6), eicosapentaenoic (C20:5n-3), docosahexaenoic (C22:6n-3). analyses demonstrated that...

Abstract Ticks are important ectoparasites responsible for the transmission of several pathogens with significant medical, veterinary, and economic impacts. Climate social changes have generated substantial in ticks' distribution, abundance, activity patterns, including ticks belonging to Hyalomma marginatum species. Knowledge on genetic structure dynamics H. populations might contribute a better understanding their current future evolution under effects anthropogenic factors eco-climatic...

This paper presented a seasonal biomonitoring of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the Tunis lagoon. PAH concentrations were measured M. sanguinea body and excrements, as well superficial sediments. A total 17 PAHs analyzed sediment matrix while 15 excrement . Variation polychaetae matches recorded over stations. Indeed, station D showed highest values sediments, followed by stations R1, R2, R3, R4. Diagnostic ratios used to help determine whether origin was pyrogenic or petrogenic....
