In response to the increasing demand for smart window technologies in autonomous vehicles, an electrochromic device (ECD), which can control solar energy transmission, such as light and heat, through dynamic changes its optical properties, has emerged a promising solution. This study focuses on improving performance of complementary ECDs incorporating Prussian blue tungsten oxide (WO3) thin films, were previously developed. We employ two fabrication methods, wet dry, based spin-coating vapor...

Smart windows, which control the amount of light entering buildings, houses, and automobiles, are promising in terms energy conservation their low environmental impact. Particularly, a next-generation smart window for automobiles will require high optical modulation, along with flexibility to adapt various intelligent designs. We have previously fabricated electrochromic devices (ECDs) by wet coating glass substrates nanoparticles (NPs), such as water-dispersive ink containing tungsten oxide...

We developed all-solid-state switchable mirror on flexible plastic [polyethylene terephthalate (PET)] sheet in the view point of low process cost and easy handling. Its optical switching property was investigated. Though device PET showed over 4000cycles durability test, it lower than that glass. The reasons seemed to be related with heterogeneous structure, oxidation surface layer adhesion film. However, remarkably results such a high nonetheless because is weak mechanical stress.

All-solid-state devices with switchable mirror properties based on magnesium-rich magnesium–nickel alloy thin films have been prepared using magnetron sputtering. The structure of the was a Mg–Ni (40 nm)/Pd (4 nm)/Ta2O5 (200 nm)/HxWO3 (500 nm)/ITO glass. composition Mg5Ni. In initial state, showed shiny metallic front side and deep blue back side, namely, in reflective state. optical transmittance at wavelength 670 nm modulated between ∼0.3% (the state) ∼40% transparent by applying voltage...

Aluminum buffer layer was inserted in all-solid-state switchable mirror based on Mg–Ni thin film to improve its durability. Optical switching speed of the device has been improved because might work transport electrons and protons promptly as an electrode. Durability evaluated by cyclic test. The with showed three times higher stable durability than that without layer. authors found aluminum effectively works suppress diffusion nickel palladium atoms into Ta2O5 during test, resulted high

The relative frequencies of both the G (VP7) and P (VP4) serotypes 40 bovine rotaviruses isolated in cell culture from diarrheic calves Japan between January 1983 February 1991 were determined by recently developed polymerase chain reaction assays. Isolates with serotype 6 5 (UK-like strains) most frequently found (42.5%) followed isolates G6P11 (17.5%), G6P1 (10%), or G10P5 (10%). G10P11 (B223-like least (7.5%). presence various combinations suggests frequent reassortment nature among rotaviruses.

With the use of ulnar nerves cynomolgus monkeys, present study examined whether basal laminae Schwann cells can serve as conduits for regenerating axons in nerve allografts from non-human primates. A segment was transected distal to elbow joint one week before grafting. In Group A, a transplanted, after freezing and thawing, into another monkey, at level that corresponded which graft taken. Switchable mirrors based on magnesium-calcium alloy thin films were prepared using a direct-current magnetron sputtering method and their gasochromic properties have been investigated. Pd-capped Mg1−zCaz (0.04<z<0.20) showed excellent switchable mirror properties. The visible transmittance in the transparent state increased with Ca composition, z, after reaching maximum of ∼46% at z∼0.06, decreased gradually increasing composition. In z<0.08, optical spectra these fairly...

We fabricated a complementary electrochromic device (ECD) by using water-dispersible nanoparticles (NP) of Prussian blue (PB) and WO3 wet process, which involved just coating. Although the ECD had thick film, it showed much higher contrast compared to other techniques. In addition, also fast optical switching speed high durability over 100 cycles because wettability control NP inks.
