The reaction of ethyl 4-(benzofuran-2-yl)-2,4-dioxobutanoate 2 with two moles hydrazine hydrate afforded 5-(benzofuran-2-yl)-1H-pyrazole-3-carbohydrazide 4a, while its equimolar amount phenylhydrazine gave ester 3b which then converted to 5-(benzofuran-2-yl)-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-3-carbohydrazide 4b. Various new compounds such as imides 5 and 6, acyl hydrazones 7 8, bi-pyrazoles 9-12, 1,3-thiazole derivatives 14 15 were prepared from carbohydrazide b. are tested for their antimicrobial...

In attempt to immobilize the mycelial fungi on a new hydrophobic matrix, Aspergillus terreus mycelia were immobilized into polytetrafluoroethylen (PTFE) and used for selected conversion of progesterone 11alpha-hydroxyprogesterone. The cells exhibited higher yields than free cells. Different parameters that can affect cell activity measured. optimum pH was 6 temperature 30ºC. Higher transformation activities achieved with matrix contained 40% PTFE. No considerable loss in yield observed...

Microbial detoxification of cyanide offered an inexpensive, safe, and viable alternative to physiochemical processes for the treatment in industrial effluents or contaminated sites. This study involved isolation novel strain with high resistance against toxicity able degrade radical. The was isolated from rocky area identified as Sphingobacterium multivorium using 16S ribosomal RNA. Resting pregrown cells were used simple reaction mixture avoid complication associated media. One-gram fresh...

Background: The marine algae are considered a diverse source of bioactive compounds. Many active compounds have been isolated from and show good biological activities. Materials Methods: aim this study is to detect the antiviral anticancer activities in some extracts algae. Extraction, purification identification common Egypt were conducted. Extraction Ulva lactuca, Sargassum dentifolium, Cystoseiara myrica was A sequence extractions, including extraction by ethanol, boiling water,...

Many bacteria detect their critical cell numbers through a mechanism known as quorum sensing (QS). Acyl homoserine lactones (AHLs) mediated QS systems have been shown to operate in important human pathogens. The aim of this study was evaluate the inhibitory effect generated by zoosporic freshwater fungi on AHLs production. A potent strain fungi, Leptolegniella keratinophilum, isolated after extended screening study. new cheap medium used support anti-AHLs activities. Statistical strategy...
