Epicardial fat is associated with cardiovascular risk factors and adverse outcomes. However, it not clear if epicardial remains to be a mortality when coronary calcium score (CAC) taken into account. We studied the 1005 participants from St. Francis Heart Study who were apparently healthy CAC scores at 80th percentile or higher for age gender, randomly assigned placebo statin therapy. At baseline, lipid profiles non-contrast CT images obtained where volume was analyzed. Likelihood ratio...

Fat embolism occurs in the vast majority of patients who have had trauma (approximately 90%). The most common occurrence is after long bone fracture. It has also been noted cases orthopedic surgery. often diagnosed when clinical manifestations fat syndrome become apparent. Reported emboli transit are unusual. Since 2009, the rate of nondiagnostic (ND) thyroid nodule fine-needle aspiration (FNA) has ranged from 2% to 20%. A ND result can cause further patient morbidity secondary repeated procedures and delay in diagnosis. The use real-time strain elastography (RTE) determining malignant risk gained considerable focus recently. less studied area where RTE may prove beneficial is its role targeting areas for FNA. Our hypothesis that FNA performed concurrence with will show a decreased results...

Nonenhanced CT scans through the kidneys commonly show a difference in radiopacity between inner peripelvic portion of renal parenchyma and more peripheral regions parenchyma. This normal observation has not been described. We reviewed 50 nonenhanced scans. Renal was evaluated by both visual inspection density measurements outer aspects 38 only 12. A narrower window used to better differences (100 W, 35 L). We recorded indication for CT, history, recent blood chemistries. The greater than...

Suprapubic catheter placement is a common method of bladder diversion. To date, there are limited reports describing safe large-bore (18–28 F) catheters as smaller often clog and require upsizing procedures. We retrospectively evaluate the image-guided percutaneous by interventional radiologists in our institution, totaling 51 patients over 5 years. successfully placed 96% (49/51) first attempts with no post-procedural complications. This data demonstrates that suprapubic less-invasive...
