Powders composing of La 2 Zr O 7 ( LZ ) and 0.8 Y 0.2 1.9 (10 YSZ phases (volume ratio = 1:1) were synthesized by using a sol‐spray pyrolysis method. The effects annealing temperature on the grain size lattice parameter –10 powders investigated. XRD results showed that 10 gradually grew from to 95 nm 5 65 as elevated 900°C 1200°C. relative decreasing percentage comparing single‐phase in range 9%–36% 37%–86%. activation energy for growth composite 225 ± 12 382 17 kJ/mol, which 20% 183% higher...
Powders of zirconia doped with 8 mol% REO 1.5 ( RE = Yb, Y, Gd, and Nd) were synthesized by using the sol–spray pyrolysis method. The effects 3+ ionic radius on monoclinic (m) phase content powders investigated. XRD results showed that metastable tetragonal (t′) underwent a complete change to form m cubic (c) phases after heat treatment 50–100 h at 1450°C. A cation size‐dependent reduction in partially stabilized ZrO 2 was observed. SEM – EDS analysis revealed concentrations c decreased...
The 40 mol% CeO 2 ‐stabilized ZrO ceramic was synthesized by the sol‐spray pyrolysis method and aged at 1400°C–1600°C. effects of high‐temperature aging on its fracture toughness were investigated after heat treatments 1500°C for 6–150 h in air. Characterization results indicated that activation energy grain growth 593 ± 47 kJ/mol. average size this varied from 1.4 to 5.6 μm within condition h. Ce ‐lean tetragonal phase has a constant tetragonality (ratio c ‐axis crystal lattice) 1.0178...
Herein, powders composed of La2Zr2O7 (LZ) and ZrO2 phases were synthesized by an in situ reaction using a sol-spray pyrolysis method; moreover, 24 mol% LaO1.5-ZrO2 (volume ratio = 1 : 1) characterized XRD, Raman spectroscopy, SEM, TEM. XRD results showed that the samples maintained tetragonal pyrochlore LZ phase from 900 to 1100 °C. The addition could be helpful stabilization t-ZrO2 decreasing grain size ZrO2. SEM revealed homogeneously distributed sintered bulk. HRTEM suggested crystal...
