In the present work, bismuth oxychloride nanoparticles–a light harvesting semiconductor photocatalyst–were synthesized by a facile hydrolysis route, with sodium bismuthate and hydroxylammonium chloride as precursor materials. The as-synthesized photocatalysts were characterized using X-ray diffraction analysis, Fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy, Raman Field emission scanning electron microscopy, photoelectron spectroscopy Photoluminescence techniques. crystal structure, morphology,...
In the recent years, there has been a growing interest in monitoring heavy metal contamination of spices/herbs. Spices and herbs are sources many bioactive compounds that can improve tastes food as well influence digestion metabolism processes. present study, levels some essential toxic elements such iron (Fe), zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), chromium (Cr), manganese (Mn), cobalt (Co), nickel (Ni), lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), common spices/herbs were purchased from local market Saudi Arabia, analyzed...
Abstract Protoporphyrin IX‐zinc oxide (PP‐ZnO) nanohybrids have been synthesized for applications in photocatalytic devices. High‐resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), X‐ray diffraction (XRD), and steady‐state infrared, absorption, emission spectroscopies used to analyze the structural details optical properties of these nanohybrids. Time‐resolved fluorescence transient absorption techniques applied study ultrafast dynamic events that are key activities. The efficiency under...
An efficient atom-economical synthetic protocol to access new imidazole-based N -phenylbenzamide derivatives is described. A one-pot three-component reaction was utilized provide a series of N-phenylbenzamide in short time (2–4 h) with an 80–85% yield. The cytotoxic evaluation revealed that 4e and 4f exhibited good activity, IC 50 values between 7.5 11.1 μM against the tested cancer cell lines. Computational studies interesting insights: docking active (4e 4f) showed higher affinity toward...
Methyl tert-butyl ether is a commonly used fuel oxygenate that present in gasoline. It was introduced to eliminate the use of leaded gasoline and improve octane quality because it aids complete combustion by supplying oxygen during process. Over past decade, MTBE has increased tremendously worldwide. For obvious reasons relating accidental spillage, started appear as an environmental human health threat its nonbiodegradable nature carcinogenic potential, respectively. In this work, degraded...
The versatility of multicomponent Biginelli's reaction is exploited in the development proline and cyclized cysteine tethered conjugates monastrol, a kinesin Eg5 inhibitor. Ten new are synthesized focusing on structural replacement ester moiety (C-5 position) monastrol backbone with amino acid based amide moieties. On cytotoxic evaluation, conjugate 24 has shown promising vitro activity against leukemia. Molecular docking studies revealed that 19 exhibit better interaction at receptor...
Abstract Four key parameters namely light trapping, density of harvesting centre, photoinduced electron injection and transport without self-recombination are universally important across all kinds solar cells. In the present study, we have considered in context a model Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC). Our experimental studies reveal that carbonate doping TiO 2 mesoporous microspheres (doped MS) makes positive influence to above mentioned responsible for enhanced cell efficiency. A simple...
A series of heterogeneous catalysts was prepared by doping zinc oxide with different palladium loadings in the range 0.5%-1.5%. The were characterized SEM, TEM and XRD. These applied to study degradation Methyl tert-Butyl Ether (MTBE). An amount 100 mg each these added an aqueous solution ppm MTBE. resulting mixtures irradiated UV light for a period 5 h. 99.7% removal MTBE achieved case photocatalyst particles doped 1% Pd. photoreaction found be first-order one.
Zinc oxide of different average particle sizes 25 nm, 59 and 421 nm as applied in the photodegradation MTBE. This study was carried out a batch photoreactor having high pressure mercury lamp. size found to be most effective degrading MTBE an aqueous solution. On using this type ZnO solution 100 ppm MTBE, concentration has decreased 5.1 after period five hours. The kinetics photocatalytic degradation first order reaction.
