We present a simple, effective technique to remove an intraocular lens (IOL) via very small incision (2.2 mm). After the IOL is carefully removed from capsular bag, into anterior chamber, 2 radial incisions, 35 degrees 50 apart, are made with Vannas scissors. This results in pieces (maximum width of 2.70 mm) that can be easily explanted through unenlarged clear corneal incisions use today.

Aim. To investigate the ability of Heidelberg Retina Tomograph (HRT3) Topographic Change Analysis (TCA) map to predict subsequent development clinical change, in patients with glaucoma. Materials. 61 eyes patients, which, from a retrospective review were defined as stable on optic nerve head (ONH) stereophotographs and visual field (VF), enrolled prospective study. Eyes classified TCA-stable or TCA-progressed based TCA map. All underwent HRT3, VF, ONH stereophotography at 9-12 months...

Background In this study, we aimed to determine the diagnostic performance of optic nerve head (ONH), macular, and circumpapillary retinal fiber layer (cpRNFL) thickness measurements wide-field maps (12 × 9 mm) using swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT) compared ONH RNFL parameters measured by Heidelberg Retina Tomograph (HRT3). Methodology This case-control study included 39 eyes glaucoma patients 36 normal subjects (control group). All participants underwent standard...

Purpose The objective of this study was to examine the impact uncomplicated phacoemulsification on macular choroidal thickness (CT) within first three postoperative months and investigate its relationship with cystoid edema (CME) in both glaucomatous healthy subjects, utilizing swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT). Methods non-randomized prospective involved 82 patients, selected via convenience sampling from First Department Ophthalmology, Medical School Athens, “G....

The antimalarial hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) has been suggested as a potential drug for treatment and prevention against severe acute respiratory syndrome–coronavirus 2 (SARS–CoV-2). Currently, there is insufficient scientific evidence available on HCQ retinal toxicity associated with the current regimen dosing COVID-19 patients. In sight of public health crisis, our recommendations aim to reduce probability unfavorable outcomes emphasize importance monitoring early detection retinopathy by...
