치커리 화이바는 콜레스테롤 개선, 배변활동 원활, 식후혈당 상승억제의 기능성을 바탕으로 건강기능식품 기능성 원료로 사용되고 있다. 배변활동에 도움을 주는 화이바를 발효하여 변비개선 효능을 확인한 결과 실험기간 동안 식이 섭취량이 증가한 반면 체중이 유의적으로 감소하는 것으로 보아 비만예방에 효과가 있을 생각된다. 장 기능 개선효과를 확인하기 위해 소화관 이동률을 측정한 대조군에 비해 양성 대조군 FWP(차전자피복합물), 실험군 CF(치커리 화이바), FCF(치커리 화이바 발효물)에서 이동률이 증가하였고, 특히 FCF 1.62 mg/g(P<0.01)과 4.13 mg/g(P<0.05)의 경우 CF 동일 농도에 증가하였다. 또한 효과를 대장 내 잔류하고 있는 변의 개수를 변비를 유발시킨 loperamide 처리군은 내에 변이 잔류하면서 배변활동이 제대로 이루어지지 않아 개수가 반면, FWP와 CF, FCF에서 감소시켰고 2.06 mg/g의 감소시켰다(P<0.01). 본 연구결과를...
