Significant increases in the cost of asphalt paving and increased awareness need for sustainable infrastructure recent years have turn use recycled pavement (RAP) manufacture hot-mix (HMA). The RAP reduces overall HMA provides significant environmental benefits. Experience has shown, however, that addition to can a negative effect on low-temperature fracture characteristics pavement. purpose this study was determine effects amounts cracking performance mixtures. Different percentages...
Reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) and warm mix (WMA) have become the primary methods for enhancing sustainability in industry recent years. To further enhance benefits, producers begun using RAP WMA combination. Research to date has focused on evaluating WMA-RAP mixtures terms of moisture sensitivity permanent deformation characteristics as measured laboratory performance tests. In present paper, authors investigate a set that encompass variety variables, including four additives (Evotherm...
The overall national emphasis on sustainability in pavement construction has led to the promotion of recycled materials such as reclaimed asphalt (RAP) and shingles. In general, inclusion these reduced performance at low temperatures leading thermal cracking. Previous research by authors showed that application bio-binder from swine manure could alleviate effect RAP while improving temperature bulk viscoelastic fracture properties mixture. current paper expands previous bio-modified mixtures...
The sustainability movement in paving materials has led to the increased use of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP). New developments this area recent past include biomodified binders (BMBs) such as those containing bio-oils derived from swine manure. study reported paper examined low-temperature properties RAP and virgin BMB mixtures determine if these exhibited better performance than conventional hot-mix (HMA). Disk-shaped compact tension [DC(T)], Superpave ® indirect (IDT), acoustic...
Abstract Low-temperature cracking (LTC) is a major distress and cause of failure for asphalt pavements located in regions with cold climate; however, most pavement design methods do not directly address LTC. The thermal model (TCModel) utilised by American Association State Highway Transportation Officials Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide relies heavily on phenomenological Paris law crack propagation. TCModel predictions are primarily based tensile strength mixture account...
In the field of asphalt concrete, use warm-mix (WMA) has become one most popular methods meeting sustainability demands. Researchers have determined that WMA can lead to reductions in fuel consumption and emissions. Early literature hypothesized an additional benefit, regardless additive or process used, was decreased susceptibility thermal cracking. The current study examined this hypothesis through laboratory testing four mixtures produced at a reduced production temperature reference...
A technique for the optimization of electromagnetic annular phased arrays (APAs) therapeutic hyperthermia has been developed and implemented. The controllable inputs are amplitudes phases driving signals each element array. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is used to estimate noninvasively temperature distribution based on dependence proton frequency (PRF). parametric model dynamics that couple control resultant elevations physical considerations. unknown parameters this estimated during a...

Mechanism of fracture in a viscoelastic heterogeneous composite with thermo-rheological properties such as, asphalt mixture is quite involved and cannot be correctly simulated simpler linear elastic mechanics constitutive laws. Over the last decade half, number researchers have adopted use cohesive zone (CZ) models for simulation mixtures. CZ interface elements are utilised finite element (FE) representation crack path, these follow traction–displacement relationships that allow gradually...
An acoustic-emission approach to evaluate the low-temperature cracking performance of asphalt binders is presented. The acoustic activity a thin film binder bonded granite substrate monitored while layer exposed decreasing temperatures from around 20°C approximately −50°C. Results eight different at three aging levels, i.e., unaged (TANK), short-term aged (RTFO), and long-term (PAV), are emission (AE) embrittlement found be sensitive type as well level. show that for most binders, their...
We present a 1.6Tbps coherent transceiver delivering 800Gbps/wave transmission using integrated Tx/Rx functions with 50GHz bandwidth and 50kHz linewidth tunable lasers on single 2-channel InP PIC, paired SiGe Driver TIA ASIC.
We report InP-based coherent transmitter PICs with hybrid integrated SiGe drivers operating at 100GBd, 32QAM back-to-back (1 Tb/wave capable), and 16QAM over 1400km. Coherent Tx (Rx) (amplifiers) operate 66GBd, 64QAM 200km.
The importance of building a trusting relationship with clients has been acknowledged and emphasized by helping professions such as social work, psychotherapy, nursing, medicine. A review literature reveals the presence three approaches to trust development, each emphasizing one components relationship: client's attitude, professional's characteristics, characteristics that exists between client professional. contention this paper is described these initial necessary for starting service...

In this work, a 10-wavelength, polarization-multiplexed, monolithically integrated InP coherent QPSK transmitter PIC is demonstrated to operate at 112 Gb/sec per wavelength and total chip superchannel bandwidth of 1.12 Tb/s. This demonstration suggests that increasing data capacity multi-Tb/s possible likely in the future.
Abstract An acoustic emission (AE)-based approach to evaluate low-temperature cracking susceptibility of both asphalt binders and mixtures is presented. The AE binder testing consists a thin film bonded granite substrate exposed decreasing temperatures ranging from 20°C −50°C. Because the differential thermal contraction between binder, cracks develop in binder. initiation/propagation these leads release mechanical elastic energy material, i.e., activity that recorded used determining...
