In this study, we examined the chemical composition and antimicrobial radical scavenging activities of propolis from Buenos Aires province, Argentina. The polyphenol flavonoids content ethanol extracts (EEP) vary widely, ranging 189 to 417 mg gallic acid equivalents (GAE)/g 46 191 quercetin (QE)/g, respectively. High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analyses indicate presence abscisic acid, p-coumaric epicatechin, indoleacetic quercetin. All samples show activity against...

Varroa destructor is a parasitic mite, which considered severe pest for honey bees causing serious losses to beekeeping. Residual hydrolats from steam extraction of hop essential oils, generally as waste product, were tested their potential use acaricides on V. destructor. Four varieties, namely Cascade, Spalt, Victoria, and Mapuche, showed an interesting performance feasible products be used in the beekeeping industry. Some volatile oxidized terpenoids found hydrolats, mainly...

The amphiphilic nature of polymers allows them to be widely incorporated as carriers in different pharmaceutical applications since they are able work vehicles for hydro- or lipo-soluble actives. The aim this study was determine the rheological behavior and vibrational spectral variations two hydrophilic gels prepared with Poloxamer 407 (PO) Pluronic F-127 (PL) addition actives mycosporine-like amino acids gadusol. The structures these concentrations (20% w/w 27% w/w) were characterized by...

The aim of this research was to determine the effects adding red seaweed meal rich in ultraviolet radiation absorbing compounds (UACs) diet juvenile prawn Artemesia longinaris and its possible protective under stress by (UVR). Three experimental diets were prepared: control (D) two supplemented with Grateloupia cf. turuturu at inclusion levels (D1: 1 g/100 g; D2: 2 g). experiments carried out: a) 45-day feeding, b) digestibility, c) exposure experiment. After feeding experiment, no...

Abstract The photostability and photophysical properties of the dimethyl ester mycosporine‐like amino acid shinorine have been experimentally evaluated in aqueous solution presence direct micelles prepared with a cationic or an anionic detergent, respectively. In comparison shinorine, molecule increases photostability, fluorescence quantum yield lifetime water as well micellar solutions. effects are more pronounced sodium dodecyl sulfate solutions suggest that electrostatic attractions...
