Assessment on feed resources, feeding practice, and reproductive productive performance of crossbred dairy cows was carried out in Wondogenet District. Multistage purposive random sampling methods were used to select kebeles respondent households. The results indicate that the major available feeds study area are natural pasture, crop residues, improved forage. About 51% respondents practice stall for their cattle. Seasonality (20.3%), scarcity (26.4%), cost (37.6%), lack awareness (15.7%)...
Abstract Near‐infrared (NIR) spectroscopy was employed to determine the differences between forage mixtures of winter cereals and Italian ryegrass evaluate fermentation characteristics mixed silages. Forages were harvested on five phases (Cuts 1–5), with 1 week interval ( n = 100). The yield last harvest (Cut 5) ensiled analyzed four different days (D0, D7, D14, D90) 80). Principal component analysis based NIR data revealed according harvest, forages, in stages partial least square...
Applications of biofertilizer have great practical importance for increasing fertility the soil and reducing environmental pollution. Screening characterizing phosphate solubilizing Bacillus (PSB) strains from different agroecologies Tigray in vitro assessment adaptability under abiotic stress would help selecting most efficient strain use as biofertilizer. A total 64 samples were collected agro-ecological zones checked presence, capability efficiency PSB. Out 21 them solubilizing. These...
The study was conducted with the objective of evaluating nutrient content, fermentation characteristics, microbial counts, and ruminal degradability two mixtures Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) winter cereal silages. Two (mixture A: ryegrass, triticale, oats, wheat barley; mixture B: oats) were wilted ensiled in laboratory‐scale silos without additives. At end 90 d B silage had higher (p < .05) dry matter (DM), ether extract (EE), crude fibre (CF), neutral detergent (NDF) acid...
The objective of this study was to evaluate the aroma profile, microbial and chemical quality winter cereals (triticale, oats, barley wheat) Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam., IRG) plus cereal mixture silages detected with an electronic nose. Four commercial mixtures (mixture A (40% two cultivars triticale + 30% oats 20% 10% wheat), B (50% 40% C (55% three types 45% oat), D oat 15% 5% wheat)) were harvested, wilted ensiled in laboratory-scale silos (n = 80) without additives. Both...
This study was conducted using three multiparous non-lactating rumen-cannulated Holstein-Friesian dairy cows, with the objective of evaluating in situ ruminal degradability and fermentation characteristics novel mixtures winter cereal Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) plus silages (mixture A: triticale, oats, barley wheat; mixture B: C: oats; D: ryegrass, wheat). The rumen replacing ensiled (experimental diets) vetch-triticale haylage a total mixed ration (control diet). It found...
The interest in new alternative forages Europe has increased recent years. nutritional composition and fermentation characteristics during different stages of ensiling were studied with Italian ryegrass ( Lolium multiflorum Lam.) winter cereal mixtures. trial was carried out on a large-scale farm Galgamenti Agricultural Limited Company, Tura, Hungary. Two forage mixes studied: Mixture A (three types 40% + two triticale 20%+ oats wheat 15%+ barley 5%) B 55% 45%). Experimental field 30.600 m 2...

Abstract During silage making microbial fermentation produces an array of end products which can influence the odour final and also change many nutritive aspects a forage. The objective this study was to evaluate quality aroma profile winter cereals Italian ryegrass ( Lolium multiflorum Lam ., IRG) plus cereal mixture silages detected with electronic nose. Four mixtures (mixture A: triticale, oats, barley wheat; B: C: IRG oats; D: IRG, wheat) were harvested, wilted ensiled in...
