A capacitive deionization process utilizing flow-electrodes (FCDI) was designed and evaluated for use in seawater desalination. The FCDI cell exhibited excellent removal efficiency (95%) with respect to an aqueous NaCl solution (salt concentration: 32.1 g L−1), demonstrating that the could effectively overcome limitations of typical CDI processes.
We report tumor targeting nanoparticles for optical/MR dual imaging based on self-assembled glycol chitosan to be a potential multimodal probe. To develop an probe, biocompatible and water-soluble (Mw = 50 kDa) were chemically modified with 5β-cholanic acid (CA), resulting in amphiphilic chitosan-5β-cholanic conjugates (GC-CA). For optical near-infrared fluorescence (NIRF) dye, Cy5.5, was conjugated GC-CA Cy5-labeled (Cy5.5-GC-CA). Moreover, order chelate gadolinium (Gd(III)) the Cy5.5-GC-CA...
We fabricated surface modified activated carbons covered with ion-selective polymer. These materials can be used as powerful dispersants and flow electrodes, improved desalting efficiency by high carbon loading via electrostatic repulsion.
Abstract GIS-NaP1 zeolite samples were synthesized using seven different Si/Al ratios (5–11) of the hydrothermal reaction mixtures having chemical composition Al 2 O 3 : x SiO :14Na O:840H to study impact molar ratio on water vapour adsorption potential, phase purity, morphology and crystal size as-synthesized crystals. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) observations reveal that does not affect purity as high crystals obtained from all ratios. Contrary, have remarkable effect morphology, porosity...
A bubbly personality: Coalescence and fusion of carbon dioxide nanobubbles in a tumor leads to microbubbles that can be imaged by ultrasound (see picture). The bubbles are released from gas-generating polymeric nanoparticles coated with hydrophobically modified chitosan. Hydrolysis the polymer poly(BL-PO), which consists biodegradable main backbone carbonate side chain, results release dioxide.
Capacitive deionization (CDI) using a flow-electrode primarily composed of porous materials and an aqueous electrolyte, exhibits continuous high desalting efficiency. The development flow-electrodes with capacitance low resistance is essential for achieving efficient capacitive (FCDI) system energy consumption. For this purpose, studies on conductive additives (CAs) that do not clog the flow-channel must be conducted. Here, we evaluated performance spherical plate-type having sizes between 1...
This investigation examines and compares the loading characteristics power factor values of V-V, Scott, Le Blanc-connected transformers by a novel approach. Four definitions are compared-three considering harmonics unbalances one based only on fundamental components. A proper value is needed to truly reflect these specially connected transformers, influences unbalances. The computation results five given cases two simulation demonstrate that different, even with same load side. Since V-V...
Single-phase GIS-NaP1 zeolite particles were hydrothermally synthesized from inorganic precursor solutions. The as-synthesized have spherical morphology similar to Myrica rubra fruit. These knobby surfaced spheres of size 0.8 1.8 μm composed crystalline nanoparticles with a crystallite around 27.4 nm. diffraction, spectroscopic and scanning analysis results evidently show high phase-purity uniform size, shape morphology. Textural characterization predicts the mesoporous character. adsorption...

The entire sequence of NaA zeolite crystal growth mechanism, involving the formation initial inorganic precursor gel, nucleation, primary intermediate crystalline building block followed by their successive oriented aggregation and then finishing with cubic formation, has been monitored light scattering analysis (LSA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission (TEM), atomic force (AFM) N2 adsorption–desorption....
A study has been conducted on the electrodeposition of tantalum in a 61 mol% LiF–39 NaF melt containing 1 K2TaF7 at 800 °C. Tantalum was coated onto stainless-steel base (SUS316L) by molten salt (MSE) different current densities (0.5, 1.5, 2, 5, 10, 20 mA/cm2). Electrodeposition metallic occurred primarily electroreduction Ta(V), i.e. TaF72 −, potential <− 0.27 V (vs. Pt used as pseudo reference electrode). At potentials less than − 0.324 V, TaF2(s) also underwent reduction to tantalum. Pure...
Nanosized zeolite molecular sieves of different Si/Al ratios have been prepared using microwave hydrothermal reactor (MHR) for their greater application in separation and catalytic science. The as‐synthesized belong to four type families: MFI (infinite high silica), FAU (moderate LTA (low silica alumina), AFI (alumina rich silica‐free). phase purity has assessed by X‐ray diffraction (XRD) analysis morphological evaluation done electron microscopy. Broad XRD peaks reveal that each sieve...
