Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is the most prevalent demyelinating disease of Central Nervous System, being Relapsing-Remitting (RRMS) its common subtype. We explored here viability use Self Organizing Maps (SOM) to perform automatic segmentation MS lesions apart from CNS normal tissue. SOM were able, in cases, successfully segment MRIs patients with RRMS, correct separation versus pathological tissue especially supratentorial acquisitions, although it could not differentiate older newer lesions.
