Abstract Zinc inhibits replication of the SARS‐CoV virus. We aimed to evaluate safety, feasibility, and biological effect administering high‐dose intravenous zinc (HDIVZn) patients with COVID‐19. performed a Phase IIa double‐blind, randomized controlled trial compare HDIVZn placebo in hospitalized administered treatment per day for maximum 7 days until either death or hospital discharge. measured concentration at baseline during observed any significant side effects. For eligible patients,...

Introduction SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) has caused an international pandemic of respiratory illness, resulting in significant healthcare and economic turmoil. To date, no robust vaccine or treatment been identified. Elemental zinc previously demonstrated to have beneficial effects on coronaviruses other viral infections due its effect RNA polymerase. Additionally, well-demonstrated protective against hypoxic injury—a clear mechanism end-organ injury distress syndrome. We aimed assess the...

To evaluate the role of multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) and Gallium-68 (68 Ga)-prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) positron emission tomography (PET)/computed (CT) in guiding salvage therapy for patients with biochemical recurrence (BCR) post-radical prostatectomy.Patients were evaluated paired mpMRI 68 Ga-PSMA PET/CT scans BCR (prostate-specific [PSA] >0.2 ng/mL). Patient, tumour, PSA characteristics analysed descriptive statistics.A total 117 underwent to...

BackgroundAnatomic complications of the ureteroenteric anastomosis in ileal conduit (IC) cause significant morbidity patients post-cystectomy and cystoprostatectomy. The Bricker technique has a perceived disadvantage increased risk for stricture, whereas Wallace runs ureteral malignancy affecting both ureteric ends, bilateral obstruction from stone lodged at anastomosis. We aimed to evaluate safety, efficacy, stricture rate novel hybrid technique. compared these outcomes techniques IC...

We describe a rare case of inflammatory spindle cell tumour the ureter in patient who presented with renal colic and macroscopic haematuria. Pyeloscopy revealed partially obstructing mass at proximal right which confirmed myofibroblastic on biopsy. Radical nephrectomy was performed confined to resection margins. Follow-up imaging 12 months did not illustrate recurrence or metastasis. The decision perform due limited experience this tumour. Reports that is unlikely metastasize, thus be...

Background: Acute lobar nephronia (ALN) is an underdiagnosed urological condition which has scarce publications available. It described as acute inflammatory and bacterial infection of the kidney without liquefaction, in fact likely represents a mid-point between pyelonephritis renal abscess. Patients usually present with fevers, septic shock, occasionally abdominal flank pain. To date there no consensus on its optimal management. Objective: The aim this study was to describe presentation,...
