Ginseng is a medicinal herb that requires cultivation under shade conditions, typically for 4-6 years, before harvesting. The principal components of ginseng are ginsenosides, glycosylated tetracyclic terpenes. Dammarene-type ginsenosides classified into two groups, protopanaxadiol (PPD) and protopanaxatriol (PPT), based on their hydroxylation patterns, further diverge to diverse through differential glycosylation. Three early enzymes, dammarenediol-II synthase (DS) P450 (PPDS) (PPTS), have...

A fiber-based polymer light-emitting diode (PLED) is demonstrated using dip coating, which widely used in the textile industry. The fiber PLED shows high luminance (>1000 cd m−2) and low operating voltages (<10 V) safely integrated into electronic textiles. This solution process allows for low-cost mass production by roll-to-roll manufacturing. As a service to our authors readers, this journal provides supporting information supplied authors. Such materials are peer reviewed may be...

Reliable actual fabric-based organic light emitting diodes are demonstrated by adopting polyurethane films, multilayer barriers, and capping layers to ensure long-term stability toward wearable displays. The devices show both operational shelf-lifetime of over 1000 h. Also, due the hierarchical structure fabrics, flex stiffness fabric substrates is shown be superior that plastic substrates. As a service our authors readers, this journal provides supporting information supplied authors. Such...

For curbing the severe inhibition and toxicity of 1-butanol in a fermentor, which stand as one major hurdles on way to commercialization biobutanol production processes, an extractive fermentation process that can remove metabolites during ferementation be effective solution. Among various separation techniques, adsorption using poly-(styrene-co-divinylbenzene) adsorbent resin is energy-efficient technique holds much promise. In this paper, we have investigated adsorption-and-desorption...

A dynamic model for a fermentation process equipped with an ex situ butanol recovery (termed "ESBR" hereafter) system is proposed continuous production of biobutanol. Since the ESBR integrates fermenter stirred-tank-type adsorption column, includes kinetic models both (the Monod/Luedeking-Piret model) and extended Langmuir model). Parameters in are initially determined using data from batch fed-batch experiments (ISBR). The developed then used to find feasible operating condition...

Red light promotes germination after activating phytochrome phyB, which destabilizes the repressor PIF1. Early upon seed imbibition, canopy light, unfavorable for photosynthesis, represses by stabilizing PIF1 inactivating phyB. Paradoxically, later stimulates phyA. phyA-mediated is poorly understood and, intriguingly, inefficient, compared to phyB-mediated germination, raising question of its physiological significance. A genetic screen identified polyamine uptake transporter 2 (put2)...

A mathematical model for a tubular reactor producing epichlorohydrin (ECH) over titanium silicate-1 (TS-1) catalyst is proposed in this work. The Eley−Rideal mechanism selected to describe the catalytic reaction, and pertinent kinetic parameters are estimated by genetic algorithm combined with Levenberg−Marquardt algorithm. time-varying activity effectiveness factor of commercial TS-1 pellet additionally included two-dimensional dynamic mass energy transport packed-bed reactor. Abstract We suggest organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) fabricated on textile substrates. 3.5 dyads of an aluminum oxide (Al 2 O 3 ) – poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) multilayer were used for planarization and encapsulation. The device showed similar performances cell images after 400 h in ambient air.
