Thin-film compression (TFC) and the focusability of high-power laser pulses after self-phase modulation in thin films at transport intensities (∼1 TW/cm2) for petawatt systems is demonstrated. A pump scheme with one long and two short pulses is proposed, in a grazing incidence pumping x-ray laser (XRL) configuration. 360 ps pulse, prepares plasma low charge state. Abstract We are showing a significant enhancement in the temporal contrast by reducing coherent noise of 10 PW laser system at Extreme Light Infrastructure - Nuclear Physics facility.
