Ethernet technologies are rapidly gaining importance as a prevailing solution for carrier networks. ring protection switching, defined in ITU-T Recommendation G.8032, provides means of achieving network requirements topologies. This article outlines the novel concepts this switching mechanism and discusses fundamental operating principles by which automatic (APS) protocol works. In addition, several feature enhancements behavior solutions being considered next phase standardization discussed.
In this paper, we propose a novel QoS guaranteed algorithm for real-time applications in IEEE 802.15.4 protocol. The standard provides Guaranteed Time Slot (GTS) mechanism to allocate specific duration within superframe structure time-critical transmissions. However, there are many weak points support applications. We suggest new slot allocation that enables services be more efficient. proposed also allocates time dynamically which have periodic messages. evaluate the delay bounds and...
Ethernet technology is rapidly gaining importance as it becomes a dominant solution for converged transport network. OAM features defined in standards provide means of performance improvement to meet carrier-class network requirements. This article outlines functions and mechanisms, explains how its monitoring schemes work. In addition, this introduces open issues their potential solutions the next phase standardization.
The MPLS Transport Profile (MPLS-TP) is a framework for the construction and operation of reliable packet-switched transport networks based on architectures Pseudowires. Its development has been shared between IETF, where expertise resides, ITU-T, with its historic understanding networks. MPLS-TP adds two significant features to toolkit: Operations, Administration, Maintenance (OAM), linear protection switching. Unlike OAM, which resulted in application specific incompatible standards being...
Network administrators can make their own programmable network by using an SDN infrastructure with the OpenFlow protocol. Through protocol, a controller instructs switch to perform specific actions, such as service chaining, according header fields of incoming packets. Our main goal is support extended view architecture inspecting not only packet but also payload information in For this purpose, we address sophisticated forwarding scheme DPI inspect effectively all According results our...
We introduce an improved Ethernet ring protection method, selective filtering database (FDB) advertisement, to minimize traffic overshoot in the event of a failure or recovery. On switching event, proposed method makes all nodes perform FDB flush except entries associated with their client subnets. Then, rapidly exchange MAC address lists so that FDBs are immediately updated by indirect learning. The scheme guarantees fast and reliable over standard scheme.
In this paper, we discuss the issues of providing protection for point-to-multipoint connections in both Ethernet and MPLS-TP-based packet transport networks. We introduce two types per-leaf protection–linear ring. Neither requires that modifications to existing standards be made. Their performances can improved by a collective signal fail mechanism proposed paper. addition, schemes — tree hybrid are newly reduce service recovery time when single failure leads multiple events, which turn...
In this study, we propose a scalable framework that guarantees both latency and jitter bounds in large networks, including the Internet. The is composed of two parts: latency-guaranteeing network jitter-guaranteeing end system. For bounds, suggest regulators per class input–output port pair DiffServ-type relay nodes. based on guaranteed time-stamping buffers at egress edge. does not require network-wide time synchronization, frequency flow state maintenance, or flow-level queuing/scheduling....
Ethernet ring protection is a new technology introduced in ITU-T Recommendation G.8032, which utilizes the generic MAC functions. We introduce an alternative enhanced switching scheme to suppress penalty transient, filtering database (FDB) actively and directly modified by information disseminated from nodes adjacent failure. The FDB at all are guaranteed be consistent form complete network topology immediately. This can reduce capacity requirement of G.8032 several times. proposed also...
Shared mesh protection (SMP) is a mechanism that recovers traffic delivery against failures on working path as rapidly linear protection. In addition, it allows for resource sharing among the paths with different endpoints in network by coordinating use of shared resources when multiple compete these resources. Owing to limited and preemption consequence priority comparison, SMP introduces new optimization problem whose objective find optimal assignment maximizes number protected services...
We consider guaranteeing end-to-end (E2E) latency bounds to flows in a network. It is desirable that are isolated from other flows. The bursts or the network utilization level should not affect flow’s bound. fair queuing technique, which includes Packetized Generalized Processor Sharing (PGPS) and Virtual Clock (VC), based on concept of ideal packet service completion time called Finish Time (FT). known provide best flow isolation but suffers fact it has maintain states. Alternative schemes...
Abstract In this paper, we consider a problem in networks with storage servers for providing multimedia service. The design involves assigning communication link capacity, sizing the servers, and distributing different types of content at each server, while guaranteeing an upper limit on individual end‐to‐end blocking probability. We alternative methods obtaining probability low computation time present optimization procedures to obtain optimal solution. Under linear cost structure, our...
A mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a collection of wireless nodes dynamically forming temporary without any other pre-established infrastructure or centralized devices. Since the dynamic nature nodes, supporting end-to-end QoS routing in MANET very difficult. Most proposed protocols for are designed flat architecture with homogeneous capacity nodes. However, many real and practical environments applied to MANET, there exist various types different computing powers, transmission capacities,...
In this paper, we discuss the issues of supporting protection switching in multiple recovery domains (MRDs). MRDs, dual node interconnection (DNI) between two adjacent is essential to provide reliable services for customers whose traffic traverses domains. Existing linear solutions packet transport networks, such as multiprotocol label switching-transport profile (MPLS-TP) and Ethernet, support an end-to-end flow end nodes a domain; however, they do not DNI capability We propose scheme with...
A packet transport network (PTN) for optical carrier Ethernet needs to be reliable even in a case that fault occurs on data path. To survive from the fault, protection switching which sends traffic pre‐established backup path can implemented PTN systems. Linear multi‐protocol label – profile (MPLS‐TP) environment requires performed with sub‐50 ms multiple faults paths (i.e. tunnels). The linear recovery at almost ten tunnels processed CPU. In this study, layer integrated circuit (PPSI) is...
This paper presents the design and experimental results of a new broadband 4-bit digital phase shifter, based on vector combining method. The circuits consist an asymmetric coupled line coupler, PIN diode attenuator, symmetric Wilkinson power combiner. measured exhibits maximum RMS error about 7.9 degrees amplitude less than 1.5 dB across frequency band from 1 GHz-3 GHz. Typical insertion loss is 16.5 dB, mean input return 14.5 output 12 dB.
In transport networks, a multi-ring architecture is very useful to facilitate network planning and design provide more resilient services for customers. Unlike traditional synchronous optical multi-rings, the service resiliency of Ethernet-based multi-rings significantly impacted by ring hierarchy because link or node failure in certain level triggers filtering database flush actions all higher rings as well with failure, consequently large amount duplicated data frames may be flooded. this...
Ethernet ring protection (ERP), defined in ITU-T recommendation G.8032, is a promising technology to realize the SONET/SDH-grade resilience carrier infrastructures. With its own loop prevention technique block link called ring-protection-link (RPL) an ERP ring, introduces new optimization problem named RPL positioning whose objective find optimal location minimize required capacity for given traffic demands. In this paper, we derive as integer linear programming (ILP) and additionally...
Most of current ring-based Ethernet protection schemes work on a basis filtering database (FDB) flush operation to guarantee data forwarding switching. However, when link or node failure occurs in congested ring network, delayed frames that have lower priorities than control can cause the FDB inconsistency problem nodes build incorrect information. Under this circumstance, some forward wrong directions, so network shows undesirable and unstable performance. In order resolve problem, paper...
