We performed an extensive investigation on the correlations among superconductivity, structural instability, and band filling in ${\mathrm{Nb}}_{1\ensuremath{-}x}{\mathrm{B}}_{2}$ materials. Synthesis, lattice parameter changes, grain morphology, superconductivity and specific heat of a new superconductor Nb(1-x)Mg(x)B(2) (0.0 <= x 0.40) series were reported. Scaling approaches to magnetization measurements are explored on a set of melt-textured (Y1−xPrx)Ba2Cu3O7−δ samples with different Pr concentrations.
