Abstract Modern precipitation over northeastern (NE) South America is strongly controlled by the seasonal meridional migration of Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). R/V METEOR expedition M125 (“SAMBA”) focused on the influence of paleoceanographic changes off NE Brazil continental hydrological cycle.
