Medicinal plants accumulate heavy metals from contaminated soil, and their consumption can cause poisoning. Our objective was to determine the levels of Pb, Cd, Zn, Cu, Fe, Mn in four medicinal plant species (Achillea millefolium, Hypericum perforatum, Plantago lanceolata, Urtica dioica) native all sampled at a former smelter. The highest soil Zn surpassed maximum allowed limit 75-fold, 48-fold, 14-fold, respectively. Their correlated with those plants, but this not case Mn. Heavy metal...

Fungal infections of cultivated food crops result in extensive losses at the global level, while resistance to antifungal agents continues grow. Supercritical fluid extraction using CO2 (SFE-CO2) has gained attention as an environmentally well-accepted method, is a non-toxic, inert and available solvent, extracts obtained are, chemically, greater or different complexities compared those conventional extracts. The SFE-CO2 Achillea millefolium, Calendula officinalis, Chamomilla recutita,...

Elderberry (Sambucus nigra L.) hydrolate, derived from domestic steam distillation, holds promise as a multifunctional ingredient for skincare and cosmetic applications. This study investigates the chemical composition biological activities of elderberry hydrolate obtained through distillation. Despite growing interest in there has been lack comprehensive studies elucidating its potential bioactive constituents. To address this gap, we conducted detailed analysis hydrolate’s composition,...
