Guizhou and Yunnan Provinces (Yungui Plateau) in Southwestern China are well known as biodiversity hotspots. We introduce two new species this study viz., Mucispora hydei (in Fuscosporellaceae, Fuscosporellales, Sordariomycetes) Tolypocladium cucullae (Ophiocordycipitaceae, Hypocreales, six records based on morpho-molecular analyses. Full descriptions, color photographs phylogenetic trees to indicate the placements of provided.
Five taxa that morphologically resemble Astrocystis and Collodiscula were collected on bamboo culms from Guizhou, Hainan Yunnan provinces in China. Based morphology molecular analyses (combined ITS, RPB2, β-tubulin α-actin genes), these species identified as cocoes (a new record to China), A. bambusicola, japonica two (A. multiloculata C. lancangjiangensis). can be distinguished other by its superficial stromata containing many perithecia larger ascospores (19–25 × 7–11 μm)....
In this study, we introduce a novel genus, Paraeutypella , of the family Diatrypaceae comprising three species viz. guizhouensis sp. nov. and P. citricola (basionym: Eutypella ) vitis Sphaeria ). Diatrypella longiasca is also introduced, which forms distinct clade in sensu stricto. The discovery new genus will contribute to expanding knowledge taxonomic framework (Xylariales). Generic delimitations are unsettled because phylogeny has yet be resolved using extensive taxon sampling sequencing...
In order to clarify the taxonomy of species Phomopsis associated with grapevines, 61 isolates were obtained from 58 different vineyards in grapevine growing areas Western Cape province South Africa. Species delimitation was primarily based on alpha conidium and conidiophore morphology, cultural characteristics, pathogenicity Vitis vinifera, ability form teleomorph vitro. The identity each taxon confirmed by means phylogenetic analyses nuclear ribosomal DNA internal transcribed spacers (5.8S,...
The genus Thoradonta Hancock (Orthoptera: Tetrigidae: Scelimeninae) is newly reported from Thailand. Two new species of the genus, lativertexoides sp. nov. and spiculobaoides nov., are described illustrated with photographs compared similar species. A taxonomic review provided a key to all known given.
Three Pestalotiopsis isolates were obtained from leaves of Coffea arabica and Rhodomyrtus tomentosa. Among them, two produced versicolorous conidia, the other concolorous conidia. Phylogenetic analysis based on a combination ITS, β-tubulin tef1 gene sequence data clearly confirms that they belong to species distinguishes them in this genus, with ex-type GenBank. On basis evidence morphology molecular phylogeny are described as new species, coffeae-arabicae sp. nov. P. rhodomyrtus
Cordycepin is one of the most important bioactive compounds produced by species Cordyceps sensu lato , but it hard to produce large amounts this substance in industrial production. In work, single factor design, Plackett-Burman and central composite design were employed establish key factors identify optimal culture conditions which improved cordycepin Using these conditions, a maximum production was 2008.48 mg/L for 700 mL working volume 1000 glass jars total content reached 1405.94...
Species of Colletotrichum are commonly found in many plant hosts as pathogens, endophytes and occasionally saprobes. Twenty-two strains were isolated from three Dendrobium species – D.cariniferum , D.catenatum D.harveyanum well unidentified species. The taxa identified using morphological characterisation phylogenetic analyses ITS, GAPDH, ACT ß–tubulin sequence data. This is the first time to identify endophytic fungi orchids above method. known species, Colletotrichumboninense...
Cobweb disease is a fungal that can cause serious damage to edible mushrooms worldwide. To investigate cobweb in Morchella sextelata Guizhou Province, China, we isolated and purified the pathogen responsible for disease. Through morphological molecular identification pathogenicity testing on infected M. sextelata, identified Cladobotryum mycophilum as of this region. This first known occurrence causing anywhere world. We then obtained genome C. BJWN07 using HiFi sequencing platform,...
A new species, Blackwellomyces larvatus, is described and illustrated from Guizhou, representing the first record of in this region. This species belongs to family Cordycipitaceae was discovered parasitizing a lepidopteran larva. It characterized by orange stromata production light purple pigment that diffuses into medium when cultured on potato dextrose agar. Phylogenetic analyses based multi-gene dataset indicate B. larvatus phylogenetically close kaihuaensis but forms distinct lineage,...
Cordycipitaceae is a well-known family in Hypocreales, comprising numerous arthropod-pathogenic species. Many taxa this have been identified and described through integrated morphological molecular analyses. In study, phylogenetic analyses using nrLSU, ITS, nrSSU, 3P _TEF , rpb1 rpb2 revealed new species, Pleurodesmospora sanduensis collection of Akanthomyces baishanensis . Additionally, concatenated 5P_ TEF +3P + MCM7 dataset was employed to clarify interspecific relationships within...
Collections of fungal samples from two dead leaf specimens Italy were subjected to morphological examination and phylogenetic analyses. Two coelomycetous taxa belonging different genera in Xylariomycetidae, Sordariomycetes, namely Discosia Sporocadus , identified. The taxon is revealed as a new species herein introduced ravennica sp. nov. while the identified rosigena . Multi-locus phylogeny based on DNA sequence data large subunit (LSU) internal transcribed spacer (ITS) nuclear ribosomal...
Two new (1, 2 viz Rubracin D and E) sixteen known Glyceroglycolipids (3-18) in the saprophytic fungus Tubeufia rubra (PF02-2) from decaying wood freshwater habitat were isolated identified. Their chemical structures elucidated via means of extensive spectroscopic analyses NMR, HR-ESI-MS UV spectra, as well comparison with literature data. The compounds assayed for reversal activity multidrug resistance (MDR) on MCF-7/ADM, K562/ADM A549/ADM cell lines, both 1 reversed MDR three resistant...
An entomogenous taxon, associated with larvae of Phassus nodus (Hepialidae) collected from Xuefeng Mountains, Hunan Province, China, was found to be a new species, Ophiocordyceps xuefengensis sp. nov. It differs similar species in having long stromata, without sterile apex, narrow asci, ascospores and by its occurrence on living root or trunk Clerodendrum cyrtophyllum. Combined sequence data the 5.8S-ITS rDNA, nrSSU, EF-1α, RPB1 gene loci also confirmed distinctiveness this species. is...
Pestalotiod taxa commonly occur in plants as endophytes, pathogens or saprobes. Endophytic Pestalotiopsis and Neopestalotiopsis species were isolated from Dendrobium cariniferum, D. loddigesii two unidentified orchid sampled southwestern China northern Thailand. Morphological molecular comparison identified the isolates new species; dendrobii, doitungensis; existing P. lushanensis trachicarpicola. This is first report of genus pestalotiod fungi careniferum. trachicarpicola are recorded...
A new alkaloid, neohelicomyine (1), along with two known alkaloids (2–3), were isolated from the fermentation of Neohelicomyces hyalosporus PF11-1. The structures these compounds elucidated by extensive analyses spectroscopic methods including 1 D and 2 NMR, HRESIMS ECD. bioactivities all evaluated using cellular assays, 3 displayed moderate cytotoxicities against human cancer (A549, TCA, RD) cells IC50 values 26–87 μg/mL.
