Abstract Photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue by graphene decorated titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ) powders heated at different temperatures was analyzed. The were prepared mixing TiO with the modified Hummers method. A thermal treatment applied to mixed and pure aim analyze their structural dependence on temperature, consistently photocatalytic effect solutions exposed UV visible radiation. Structural characterization carried out x-ray diffraction Raman spectroscopy. When irradiated UV,...
CdTe:Cu films were grown by pulsed laser deposition on Corning glass slides at a substrate temperature of 300 °C. The thin using CdTe and Cu2Te powders, varying the concentration from 3 to 10 wt. %. structural, compositional, optical, electrical properties analyzed as function nominal copper concentration. X-ray diffraction shows that have cubic phase. compositional analysis indicates with lower Cu content Te excess, other hand, higher deficiencies. measurements showed low present lowest resistivity.
In the pulsed laser deposition of thin films, plasma parameters such as energy and density ions play an important role in properties materials. present work, cadmium telluride films were obtained by ablation a stoichiometric CdTe target vacuum, using two different values for: substrate temperature (RT 200 °C) (120 eV). Structural characterization revealed that crystalline phase can be changed controlling both temperature; which affects corresponding band gap energy. All showed smooth...
Growth reactions based on a newly developed deuterium-stabilized Sn hydride [(Ph)SnD(3)] with Ge(2)H(6) produce new family of Ge-Sn semiconductors tunable band gaps and potential applications in high-speed, high-efficiency infrared optoelectronics. Metastable diamond-cubic films Ge(1-x)Sn(x) alloys are created by chemical vapor deposition at 350 degrees C Si(100). These exhibit unprecedented thermal stability superior crystallinity despite the 17% lattice mismatch between constituent...
Abstract BiOI nanostructures were synthetized through a hydrothermal process using either bismuth acetate or subsalicylate as Bi precursor. Regardless of the used source, same crystalline structure was obtained; nevertheless, nature precursor had an evident impact in color appearance obtained sample. Another notable difference observed resulting morphology, where ∼1.6 μ m flower- and dandelion-like shapes for subsalicylate, respectively; both structures assembled by around 30 nm thick...
Silicon and germanium nanoparticles were synthesized by laser ablation of solid Si Ge targets in ethanol. The immersed a vessel containing the solvent irradiated during 1 min at fluence 0.86 J cm−2. obtained colloidal structurally characterized Raman spectroscopy Transmission Electron Microscopy, where nanocrystals ranging from 5 to 20 nm found. optical absorption samples was studied UV–vis spectroscopy. Results showed band gap widening for both semiconductor nanocrystals.
SiO x / Si -nanocrystals (Si NCs) heterolayers were fabricated employing a rf magnetron sputtering system. The synthesis process, through modification of the oxygen partial pressure plasma, promotes stoichiometric SiO2 layers and affect NCs layer giving place to SiOx/Si (1.64<x<2) interfaces. All as-grown samples showed strong photoluminescence (PL) bands in visible near-infrared regions; transmission electron microscopy measurements confirmed presence NCs. Thermal annealing at...
To study the effect of preparation method on gas-sensing behavior nanostructured , this oxide was prepared by three different synthesis routes. Two them based nonaqueous solution media employing triethanolamine and hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide in ethanol, third, an aqueous solution-polymerization using polyvinyl alcohol sucrose. In order to obtain solid precursor materials from solutions, evaporation made applying microwave radiation. Further thermal decomposition precursors at air...
Abstract CdTe:Sn thin films were grown by pulsed laser deposition on glass substrates at room temperature. The study of the changes in chemical, structural and optical properties as a function density Sn ions calculated from Langmuir planar probe measurments is presented. Four simultaneous ablation CdTe targets vacuum. ion was modified varying fluence target, while plasma kept constant for all deposits. One film control sample using same experimental conditions films. chemical composition...
Abstract In this work, structural, optical and electrical properties of ZnO thin films grown by laser ablation a Zn metallic target on oxygen atmosphere using the 532 nm emission second harmonic Nd:YAG laser, are studied. Different mean kinetic energies plasma (E k ) at fixed ion density (N p were used as control parameters. X-ray diffraction profiles show presence width (002) peak together with associated (101) reflection. Changes in E affect crystallinity samples. An intense PL visible...
We report the effects of varying oxygen partial pressure (OPP) on structural and electronic properties SiOx/Si heterolayers grown by RF reactive sputtering. The produced samples present silicon poly-crystalline characteristics for low values OPP. crystallinity decreases as OPP increases due to interdiffusion until crystal structure becomes amorphous. results infrared Raman spectroscopies show higher deviation from stoichiometry an increment disorder with Room temperature photoluminescence...
Zinc vanadate thin films, which have the property of band gap tunability together with interesting optical and electrical properties, are excellent candidates for optoelectronic applications such as solar cells. But so far, no reports on films deposition zinc vanadates exist in literature. In present work, compounds were grown glass substrates at room temperature by pulsed laser deposition. A polycrystalline ZnV2O6 target synthesized melt quenching was used ablation process. The physical...
ZnO:Cu thin films were deposited on Si (100) substrates at room temperature by the simultaneous laser ablation of Zn and Cu targets. The plasma parameters (mean kinetic energy (Ek) density (Np)) calculated using time flight curves obtained from Langmuir planar probe measurements used as control for deposition process. In order to change content incorporated into films, Np-Cu was varied while keeping Ek-Cu constant. On other hand, Zinc both kept main purpose this research study effect...
Laser pulse overlapping is one of the least studied parameters involved in production nanoparticles by laser ablation confined liquids. In order to explore its effect on yield nanoparticles, we employed a motorized XY translation stage with speed control, which allowed us regulate pulses target.Four different settings were used silver target distilled water; each process virgin surface, using 532 nm emission Nd:YAG laser, fixed spot diameter 1 mm and energy 0.5 J/pulse.Peak optical...
