Motivation: Genetic analysis of HIV-1 is important not only for vaccine development, but also to guide treatment strategies, track the emergence new viral variants and ensure that diagnostic assays are contemporary fully optimized. However, most genotyping methods laborious complex, involve use multiple software applications. Here, we describe development an automated system can be easily applied other rapidly evolving pathogens. Results:The REGA subtyping tool, developed using Java...
This study reports on the immunogenicity and biodistribution of H5 hemagglutinin (HA)-based self-amplifying (sa) mRNA vaccines in mice. Four sa-mRNA encoding either a secreted full-length HA, HA head domain, stalk or membrane-anchored were investigated. All elicited an adaptive immune response. However, sa-RNA demonstrated superior performance compared to domain vaccines. The antibody titers positively correlated with vaccine dose. Cellular responses antigen-specific IgA antibodies lungs...
Primary liver cancer comprises a diverse group of tumors. The heterogeneity these tumors is seen as one the obstacles to finding an effective therapy. Hippo pathway, with its downstream transcriptional co-activator Yes-associated protein (YAP) and PDZ-binding motif (TAZ), has decisive role in carcinogenesis primary cancer. Therefore, we examined expression pattern YAP TAZ 141 patients hepatocellular carcinoma keratin 19 positive (HCC K19+), negative K19−), combined...
ABSTRACT Subtype-dependent selection of HIV-1 reverse transcriptase resistance mutation K65R was previously observed in cell culture and small clinical investigations. We compared prevalence across subtypes A, B, C, F, G, CRF02_AG separately a cohort 3,076 patients on combination therapy including tenofovir. significantly higher subtype C. This could not be explained by demographic factors multivariate analysis, suggesting sequence-specific pathways.
The purpose of this study was the qualitative and quantitative assessment in vitro effect HIV-1 protease (PR) mutation 82M on replication capacity susceptibility to eight clinically available PR inhibitors (PIs). substitution introduced by site-directed mutagenesis wild-type subtype B G strains, as well reverted back a therapy-failing strain. recombinant viruses were evaluated for their PIs. single within or background did not result drug resistance. However, mutations PI is always...
SummaryThe use of volatile and gaseous anesthetics, alkaloïds opium belladonna, ami barbiturates, has not given to the obstetricans results they expected in domain obstetrical analgesia. Methods blocking semsory fibres coming from uterus have been applied. The at height inferior anti superior hypogastric plexus remained without, result.Obstetricans limited themselves spinal anesthesia, caudal analgesia, lumbar sympathetic infiltration, most cases. The methods are elective enough allow precise...
In order to minimize animal loss and economical loss, industrial poultry is heavily vaccinated against infectious agents. mRNA vaccination an effective platform, yet little no comprehensive, comparative studies in avians can be found. Nevertheless, could prove very interesting due the relatively low production cost, especially true when using self-amplifying (saRNA), their extreme adaptability new pathogens. The latter particularly useful pathogens join stage or variants arise. As a first...
ObjectivesThe use of tenofovir is highly associated with the emergence mutation K65R, which confers broad resistance to nucleoside/nucleotide analogue reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs), especially when combined other NRTIs also selecting for K65R. Although recent HIV-1 treatment guidelines discouraging these combinations resulted in reduced K65R selection tenofovir, updated information on impact currently recommended regimens population rate presently lacking.
Summary: RegaDB is a free and open source data management analysis environment for infectious diseases. allows clinicians to store, manage analyse patient data, including viral genetic sequences. Moreover, provides researchers with mechanism collect in uniform format offers them canvas make newly developed bioinformatics tools available virologists through user friendly interface.
