An analytical method for the simultaneous determination of residues eight neonicotinoid insecticides and two metabolites in honey using LC-MS/MS was developed validated. Two approaches sample preparation were investigated, with final involving acetonitrile extraction subsequent cleanup by dispersive solid-phase (QuEChERS type). Validation based on quintuplicate analysis at three fortification levels showed satisfactory recoveries (60-114%) high precision (RSDs between 2.7 12.8%). Low limits...
Heat treatment of milk induces a reaction between the proteins and lactose, resulting in lactosylated protein species. The lactosylation two major whey α-lactalbumin β-lactoglobulin was investigated by reversed phase liquid chromatography−mass spectrometry (LC-MS). Three sample series, consisting aqueous model solutions each separately mixture whole milk, were heated for different time periods, progression monitored. observed degrees kinetics showed that not influenced presence other...
All-R/all-S enantiomers of oligoalanines (Alan, n = 1−10) with N-terminal protection group have been separated by HPLC on chiral stationary phases based various cinchona alkaloid selectors. Structure−enantioselectivity relationships derived extensive selector structure optimization provided insights into binding mechanisms and recognition. Their interpretation was supported X-ray crystal structures amino acid dipeptide, respectively, in complex selector. Optimized selectors bulky elements...
The absolute quantitation of proteins in biological matrixes is great interest many fields and can be accomplished by different methodologies. Here, a method for the whey protein β-lactoglobulin using liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry reported. developed approach was characterized detail applied determination contents various milk products. A special focus placed on recovery rates isolation procedure robust LC−MS. For these purposes internal standards were employed. observed...
Bacillus cereus foodborne intoxications and toxicoinfections are on a rise. Usually, symptoms self-limiting but occasionally hospitalization is necessary. Severe with the emetic toxin cereulide, which notably resistant heat acid during cooking, can cause acute liver failure encephalopathy. We here present case series of food poisonings in five immunocompetent adults after ingestion fried rice balls, were massively contaminated cereus. The patients developed broad clinical spectrum, ranging...
The chiral recognition mechanism of a cinchona alkaloid based selector for N-protected peptide enantiomers was investigated. A stationary phase derived from this employed liquid chromatographic enantiomer separations. It showed exceptionally high discrimination the (all-R)- and (all-S)-enantiomers dialanine (α = 20), while pronounced loss occurred upon insertion an additional alanine residue into backbone. This reduction enantioselectivity investigated in great detail by NMR spectroscopy...
Nonaqueous ion-pair capillary electrophoresis separations of N-protected (all-R)/(all-S) alanine peptide enantiomers with up to six amino acid residues using tert.-butylcarbamoylquinine as selector and employing the partial filling technique are presented. The effects various conditional parameters on separation were studied, namely chemical nature wall, solvent composition background electrolyte (BGE), acid-base-ratio (equivalent apparent pH), ionic strength concentration. influence...
Abstract Eleven different N‐terminal protecting groups (acetyl, benzoyl, FMOC, etc.) were employed for the HPLC separation of oligoalanine peptide enantiomers containing up to six amino acids. Isocratic separations performed using a hydro‐organic buffered mobile phase and 4 mm ID columns three chiral anion exchange stationary phases based on cinchona alkaloid‐derived selectors. For most peptides successful could be obtained with all groups, although those comprising aromatic moieties found...
In the period from 2007 to 2017 furan levels of foods were analysed by Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety. Based on these analytical data consumption dietary exposure children adults was estimated using a deterministic approach. For adult population mean 95th percentile exposures at 0.31 µg/kg bodyweight per day 0.72 day, respectively. The 0.18 is thus only about half as high adults. At 0.49 day. main contributor total coffee followed convenience products contributors are grain well...
Abstract The enantiomer discrimination of peptides by electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry is described. A cinchona alkaloid derivative, tert ‐butylcarbamoylquinine, used as chiral selector. selector forms diastereomeric complexes with the peptide enantiomers in liquid phase (methanolic solution), which are then transferred to gas phase, where their dissociation behaviour studied an ion‐trap spectrometer. Different degrees allow for enantiomers. influence sequence on discussed...
