The objective of this study was to determine and compare the sugar profile, distribution in fruits leaves sink-source relationship three strawberry ('Favette', 'Alba' 'Clery') blueberry cultivars ('Bluecrop', 'Duke' 'Nui') grown organic (OP) integrated production systems (IP). Sugar analysis done using high-performance anion-exchange chromatography (HPAEC) with pulsed amperometric detection (PAD). results showed that monosaccharide glucose fructose disaccharide sucrose were most important...

In this study we analysed mineral composition of bee pollen different plant origin collected across Serbia using inductively coupled plasma - optical emission spectrometry. The most abundant elements were potassium, calcium, and magnesium. samples also exceptionally rich in iron zinc, which are very important as nutrients. Judging by our findings, much more depends on the type pollen-producing than its geographical origin.

The aim of this study was to compare total phenolic content (TPC), radical-scavenging activity (RSA), anthocyanin (TAC), sugar and polyphenolic profiles two apple cultivars (‘Discovery’ ‘Red Aroma Orelind’) from organic integrated production systems in climatic conditions Western Norway. Sixteen sugars four alcohols 19 polyphenols were found the peel, but less detected pulp. peel both apples had significantly higher TPC RSA than apples, while TAC integrated. Sucrose glucose levels apples;...

Total phenolic content (TPC), total anthocyanin (TAC), free and ellagic acid content, sugars, minerals, radical-scavenging activity were determined in nine berries harvested Serbia. More than 30 compounds identified; among them, 11 polyphenols cis,trans-abscisic quantified using UHPLC coupled with an LTQ-Orbitrap XL mass analyzer. For the first time chrysin, naringenin, pinocembrin, galangin some of investigated berry species. The extraction efficiency two systems, methanol acetone, was...

Background and Aims Retranslocation of iron (Fe) from source tissues enhances plant tolerance to Fe deficiency. Previous work has shown that silicon (Si) can alleviate deficiency by enhancing acquisition root shoot translocation Fe. Here the role Si in mobilization older leaves subsequent retranslocation young cucumber (Cucumis sativus) plants growing under Fe-limiting conditions was investigated. Methods Iron (57Fe or naturally occurring isotopes) measured at different positions on...

In this work, 12 apple cultivars grown organically in three regions of Norway (Telemark, Ullensvang, Viken) were analyzed terms fruit quality, with the aim equating different growing under specific climatic conditions. Apples for concentration levels minerals, sugars, sugar alcohols, organic acids, total phenolic content (TPC), radical scavenging activity (RSA), and profiles. Discovery “Rose” from Telemark stored highest level minerals (24,094.5 mg/kg dry weight). Glucose, fructose, sucrose,...

To date little has been done on identification of major phenolic compounds responsible for anticancer and antioxidant properties pea (Pisum sativum L.) seed coat extracts. In the present study, profile extracts from 10 differently colored European varieties determined using ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography–linear trap quadrupole orbitrap mass spectrometer technique. Extracts dark with high total content (up to 46.56 mg GAE/g) exhibited strong activities (measured by...
