The objective of the present study was to analyze role mesothelial markers desmin and N-cadherin in diagnostic panel serous effusions. A total 181 pleural peritoneal effusions consisted 101 cases cytologically diagnosed as malignant (89 carcinomas, 12 mesotheliomas), 78 benign, 2 inconclusive specimens. All specimens were immunostained using 11 antibodies, against epithelial membrane antigen, Ber-EP4, carcinoembryonic E-cadherin, CA 125, N-cadherin, desmin, calretinin, p53, vimentin, CD45....
African swine fewer (ASF) is a serious disease present in Africa, Eurasia, and the Caribbean but not continental North America. CanSpotASF describes ASF surveillance Canada. It enhanced passive by adding new components one one. The first enhancement was "the risk-based early detection testing (rule-out testing)" where cases with eligible conditions were tested for virus (ASFv). rule-out started 2020 we have over 3 years data Canada West Swine Health Intelligence Network (CWSHIN) repository...
Despite an intensive screening activity, the incidence of cervical cancer in Denmark has remained stable for last 15 years, while regional differences have increased. To search explanations, we investigated possible weaknesses program.Data on screen-targeted women were retrieved from Statistics Denmark. Data activity annual reports 2009 to 2015 quality screening. Coverage was calculated as proportion with at least one cytology sample within recommended time intervals. Insufficient follow-up...
We compared the efficiency of immunophenotyping using flow cytometry (FCM) and a combination morphologic immunocytochemical studies for detecting malignant cells in 92 effusions. Cytologic results were as follows: carcinoma cells, 43 specimens; benign, 42 suggestive nonepithelial malignancy, 7 specimens. After analysis, 5 benign specimens reclassified 4 epithelial benign. With FCM, positive Ber-EP4, B72.3, AH6, HB-TN detected 28 to 36 (64%–82%) 44 carcinomas but only 2 12 (5%–29%) 41...
A randomized double-blind placebo-controlled clinical trial was carried out to determine whether a group of stable children with cerebral palsy (36 males, 21 females; mean age 10 years 11 months, range 5 18 years) would improve their motor skills after 12 months threshold electrical stimulation (TES). Two thirds received active and one third inactive stimulators. For the primary outcome we constructed set plausible function tests studied change in summary indices performance measurements....

Abstract Vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV) has been introduced as a public health initiative in many countries, including Denmark since October 2008. It is important to monitor postimplementation effectiveness of HPV‐vaccination at the population‐level. We studied HPV‐prevalence after first invitation screening age 23 years women offered quadrivalent HPV‐vaccine 14 years. Randomly selected samples from born 1994 four out five Danish regions were subjected analysis for HPV...
The objective of the present study was to compare efficiency immunophenotyping using flow cytometry (FCM) and immunocytochemistry (ICC) in detection macrophages serous effusions. Cytoblock sections from 90 effusions were stained for monocyte/macrophage marker CD14, ICC. Fresh-frozen samples all cases analyzed CD14 expression, FCM. Epithelial, lymphoid, mesothelial cell populations identified antibodies against Ber-EP4, CD45, N-cadherin, respectively. Results compared with clinical parameters...
Cytology findings of atypical squamous cells unknown significance (ASCUS) or low-grade intraepithelial lesion (LSIL) are common among women under 30, but evidence on best management strategy is insufficient. We therefore investigated how different strategies used in Denmark influenced biopsy rates and detection cervical neoplasia (CIN).Register-based cohort study including Danish aged less than 30 years born 1980-95, with ASCUS/LSIL as their first abnormal cytology 2008-16. Rates relative...
Introduction Danish women exit cervical cancer screening at age 65 years, but 23% of cases occur beyond this age. In addition, due to gradual implementation screening, older are underscreened by today´s standards. A one-time with HPV test was therefore offered born before 1948. Methods Register based study reporting histology diagnoses and conizations in found positive the screening. Number proportion severe or non-severe results were calculated for screened HPV-positive group region...
The Pediatric Evaluation of Disability Inventory (PEDI) assesses functional status in children with disabilities aged 0.5-7.5 years. purpose this study was to examine if the Danish version PEDI able discriminate between nondisabled and cerebral palsy (CP) or juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). Convenience sampling used select clinical samples that consisted 22 CP 14 JIA 1.5-7.5 An additional sample, consisting 224 1.0-5.9 years, obtained on basis random sampling. administered as a...
In Brief Purpose: To examine the applicability of US reference data from Pediatric Evaluation Disability Inventory (PEDI) in a random Danish sample and to assess intrarespondent reliability. Methods: The PEDI was administered as mailed questionnaire that completed by parents. Linear regression models comparisons item difficulty were performed analysis. Intraclass correlation coefficients used Results: children differed on 3 6 subscales PEDI. had significantly lower scores caregiver...
