Although many studies associate a poor state of oral health with the risk undernutrition in both autonomous and dependent elderly, very few them consider frail elderly person. However, identification is one major issues modern geriatrics. It at this stage that preventive strategies are most effective against risks dependency. The main objective our study to explore nature association between patient, identify associated factors.
The emergence of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) at the end 2019 caused global pandemic. Oral and dermatological manifestations disease (COVID-19) such as xerostomia, aphthous-like lesions, ulcers, tongue depapillation, necrotizing gingivitis, taste disorders, including loss salivary gland infections are being reported. This study aims to describe a case oral ulcers following COVID-19 infection.
The initiatives to improve the quality are widely developed in healthcare sector. So, an evaluation of professional practices (EPP) concerning oral diseases elderly was organized long term care unit teaching hospital Toulouse. In dynamic this EPP, a pilot study consisted estimating new kit hygiene. This hygiene chosen according defined criteria adapted elderly. results show clear improvement health measured with specific index (Oral assessment tool).
