The possibility of joining titanium substrates with Ti-Ta corrosion-resistant coatings was investigated. Joints were obtained by manual tungsten inert gas welding. Microstructure investigations revealed the inhomogeneous distribution alloying elements and a martensitic microstructure in joints. Microhardness values welded seams approximately equal varied from 380 to 420 HV. value substrate microhardness about 180 An ultimate strength joints 580 MPa while starting material 365MPa.
